I love fancy dress, pumpkin picking and trick or treat as much as the next girl - but, I'm sure you're all aware by now, tomorrow's holiday Halloween/Samhain, whatever you choose to call it in your home, is quite a big celebration for me and my family, and some of our close friends, and although we do all the traditional Halloween customs many of us know and love, there are also many more traditions and rituals which we enjoy during this holiday season.
I thought I'd share a couple with you in case you fancied incorporating something slightly alternative into your own family celebration this weekend π§Ή
Again, posting ahead of time to give you chance to get to the big Morrison's for supplies π€£
Apple Wishes - this cute little manifestation activity is lovely for younger children, it encourages kindness to others, connectedness to something bigger than ourselves and adds a big pinch of magic to the air.... you can swap out apples for a different fruit if needs be!
Ancestor Ritual - all of the family can partake in this, instead of focusing on the spirits of loved ones which may frighten some younger family members if they arent used to it, this one encourages us to remember our loved ones who are beyond the veil, it can be funny, warm and reassuring to keep their memory alive through stories and anecdotes.
Mulled Cider (grown ups only!) - a healthy dose of kitchen witchery and very similar to stirring up a spell in a cauldron, use this to manifest or banish! (You can adapt this for those who don't drink by using a lemon or ginger tea as a base).
Thank you for letting me share some of my rituals with you, I hope whatever you decide to do tomorrow (even if it's nothing) brings you a big burst of joy π§Ήβ¨οΈπ»
