Stopping smoking is one of the best things you can do to improve your health.

When you stop smoking you’ll start to feel the benefits in as little as 20 minutes. Within as little as 48hrs your sense of smell and taste will start to improve and after a year your risk of heart attack will have HALVED compared to that of a smoker.

It's never too late to quit.

We understand that change can be difficult, and we want to let you know about that we from Monday, September 29th you will need to order your repeat medication direct from the practice instead of your pharmacy.

This change is part of a new directive from NHS England to help ensure patient safety and reduce medication waste. We know that many of you have a long-standing relationship with your local pharmacy, and we want to reassure you that this change will not affect that. The new process simply means that you will now be the one to order your medication when you need it.

We believe the easiest and quickest way to order is by using the NHS App. It's a simple and secure way to manage your prescriptions directly from your phone.

If you don't use the app, you can still order in person by bringing your tear-off slip from your prescription to the practice. If you don't have the slip, you can also write down your name, date of birth, and the medications you need.

We know that some patients may feel vulnerable or need assistance. If this is the case for you, please don't worry. We encourage you to have a conversation with your regular pharmacy team about your situation. They can still support you with ordering your medication if needed.

EDIT!

Our systems appear to be back up and running, patients should now therefore be able to access the surgery in the usual way and attend appointments.

URGENT!

Important Notice: Disruptions to Our Services Today

We're very sorry to have to tell you that we're currently experiencing a major IT and phone system outage. Our clinical IT suppliers carried out an update to their systems last night, and unfortunately, this has left us without any access to our computers or phone lines.

What Does This Mean for You?
In simple terms, this means we can't access patient records, book new appointments, issue prescriptions, or even answer your calls. It's like trying to run a busy office without any electricity or internet – it's just not possible for us to safely and effectively provide care right now.

Why We've Had to Cancel Appointments
Because of this complete system failure, we've had to make the difficult decision to cancel all appointments today until further notice. We understand this is incredibly frustrating and disruptive for your day. We truly apologise for any inconvenience this causes, especially if you've taken time off work or arranged childcare.

We want to assure you that this situation is completely out of our hands. We are working closely with our IT suppliers to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Please know that we are doing everything we can to get back up and running.

How This Affects Our Day-to-Day Running
Normally, our IT systems are at the heart of everything we do. From the moment you call to book an appointment, to when our doctors and nurses access your medical history during a consultation, and even when we send prescriptions to your pharmacy – it all relies on our IT infrastructure. Without it, our day-to-day operations are severely impacted. We can't:

Access your medical records: This is crucial for safe and effective care.
Book or reschedule appointments: Our entire scheduling system is offline.
Process prescriptions: We can't generate or send electronic prescriptions.
Receive or make phone calls: Our phone lines are completely down.
Communicate with other healthcare providers: Referrals and correspondence are on hold.

We Will Keep You Updated
We know you'll want to know when things are back to normal. We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information. Please check our website and social media channels for the latest updates.
