There's certainly a smell of peppermint all over my house right now, you'll be thinking ants I'm sure, but no, it's a cheeky mouse and I'm determined he (or they ) won't be staying. I find peppermint one of my go to oils for many things, (even prickly heat if used correctly) but where the creepies and crawlies are concerned it's Invaluable. Take some with you on holiday to put a drop on each corner of the beach towel to keep the ants away. Plus much, much more. Needs to be used with caution, Peppermint can sting or burn if it gets near the eyes.

Happy New year aromatherapy enthusiasts, if you're the type that makes new year's resolutions (one of mine is to post on here a bit more often)
I have a lovely recipe for you.
Create a space where you can relax with your oil blend (a burner or dish) add 1 drop of vetiver (calming and grounding) 1 drop of Frankincence (to help you see past 'now') 2 drops Ylang Ylang (increase confidence) and Lemon balm (melissa) to strengthen resolution
As you inhale this beautiful vapour think of the main change you plan and let the thought and the aroma be one.
Enjoy, message me if you need more info. E X

Taken a while to get round to it but as promised here's the Aromatherapy recipe that I find the most useful in general for sore muscles and joints.
Add 5 drops Eucalyptus, 5 drops Ginger, 7 drops Lavender and 3 drops Black pepper to a 50 ml bottle of arnica and grapeseed. If your aches and pains respond more to heat, warm the oil blend before massaging, spend 5 minutes massaging into the muscle area if possible.
This dilution is for the body and too strong for the face but still do a patch test inside the elbow first. For any queries and info on contras or dilutions just message me. E.

Another recipe here, A little self help for those feeling rough and wornout when suffering with arthritic joints and sore muscles. Make yourself a Turmeric milk or tea and it helps to
rub a little anti inflammatory oil on the knees or whatever bits are troubling you and you'll soon be all bright eyed and bushy tailed again
.....hopefully. 😀 so,
Add a tsp turmeric, half tsp honey, sprinkle of ginger and black pepper to a cup or mug add boiling water or hot milk, stir, let it settle then sit and sip while the aromatherapy massage oil does its job.

All are anti inflammatory oils and spices so it is necessary to check you don't have any alergies/health issues to be aware of. I'll post the massage oil recipe later.

We know theres no substitute for a lovely massage but when you can't get one and you're still in need of a little tlc try some self help with a massage blend of your favourite essential oils or make a specific one for how you 'want' to feel, best results are to rub a little into all of your pulse points not just the wrists, starting at the ankles, then behind the knees, the groin, the abdomen, inside the elbows, the breast bone, the neck (thyroid) and at the base behind the ears. Although not a pulse point another place to include is the sole of the feet (under the ball of the foot in the center). Message me if you need more info.

For a relaxing bath, something for most moods, 'the grumpy and bad tempered' one is my favourites, don't have a bath so I use mine in a foot bath, still works and after 10 mins foot soak I'm at peace with the world (and no longer shout at the telly).

Any aromatherapy enthusiasts, friends, ex students still dabbling with oils I have some lovely oil blends for you to try, a new favourite of mine is Benzoin with a touch of vetiver, emphasises the base, bergamot with touch of grapefruit for the top note to 'lift' it and for the balance the lovely geranium, the rose geranium is much nicer, ( a bit like Turkish delight) blend a few drops of each, dilute in fractionated coconut and rub a little on your wrist pulse points, inhail and let that take you on a journey, heavenly. Remember the precautions when using essential oils. Message me if you have any questions. X
