We are very Proud to be sharing that we are supporting the ADMP hub East Midlands at ID Derby , as one of our Directors is a Dance / Movement Therapist who trained in Derby. We believe in its power to connect mind and body and its endless possibility's to heal . University of Derby equipping us with the skills and tools to develop creative connections, with ourselves, our clients and professionals.

The University of Derby are making cuts to courses - The MA DMP is at risk. This is the only DMP training outside of London, and we think that is something worth holding on to.

Please, if you trained at Derby, can you get in touch with the DMP course leader and let them know why you chose Derby and tell them about your experience there?

It is important to build a strong case for DMP in Derby and keep this vital course going. Embodied, creative, trauma-informed practice is rapidly gaining recognition as we learn more about the neuroscience of creative and movement-based psychotherapy. DMP is holistic, innovative, trauma-informed and critically, it is a vital lifeline for those who are non-verbal.

We need highly trained, experienced practitioners, and London is not accessible to all who wish to train in DMP. Closing the Derby course would discriminate against these potential new and important practitioners and could impact the growth and development of DMP.

Michela Reghellin is a qualified DMP and she is on the Creative Clinical Supervision training programme with Relight. Michela has been working as a DMP for nearly 10 years and she has experience with a wide range of clients and issues, in particular: trauma, PTSD, attachment issues, SEN and neurodiversity. She has also completed the Body Mapping mentorship with Annette Schwalbe. Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centred and psychodynamic.
