Today is the last day of scoliosis awareness month…
Scoliosis is curvature of the spine and it can be mild or severe like mine. My parents were told I had to have surgery as it was so aggressive it was life threatening as I got older and after almost 6 years in a back brace I started my surgery journey just before my tenth birthday.
Everything that was promised fell through. There was no more running, I had to stop my dancing classes, I probably missed 2 years of school in total. I spent months in hospital having the surgery done again and again to the point of being seriously ill with an infection through my whole spine.

To put it mildly it was a sh*tshow 😆 and my poor family and friends had to go through it all with me. I could have had a very different life. If the surgery had been successful who knows what I would be doing - possibly acting? If I hadn’t had the support and the tenacity I had my life could have been pretty dull. It turns out I’ve had a pretty awesome life even with a f**ked up back and chronic pain (not to mention the other health stuff). Treatment and surgery for scoliosis now is completely different and if I had been born 2 or 3 decades later I think the outcome may also have been different.
Scoliosis can change your whole anatomy, from wonky hips and shoulders, to “sticky out” ribs/scapula’s and compromised major organs due to being “squashed up” god knows where I grew my baby ?? Even your whole muscular structure is different to the norm meaning a lovely challenge for any physio or massage therapist 😂. Scoliosis also affects your nerves leading to poor circulation, loss of sensation and other pain issues.
If I start talking about how it affects my everyday life this will become way too long a post. Just be grateful if you can sit at a table without a booster seat 😅, touch your toes, put your socks on, swim, find clothes that fit or even walk. Hands up 🙌 for all my fellow scoliwarriors and scoliobabes- no matter how you feel or how you look you’ve always got value to add to this world… find your passion and live it!

I’ve been working on creating a shamanic sound healing course this year.
After requests to teach people sound healing I thought about what was the best way I could approach this. I’m not a musician, sound scientist or sound technician. What I do know is what people tell me after they have had a sound healing session with me.
Their physical pain has lessened or gone completely. They feel grounded and calm. They feel unburdened. They have released emotions they have been carrying. Sometimes they went on a beautiful astral journey, received messages from spirit or just completely focused on the present moment.
I’ve always approached sound healing in a shamanic way and began this journey in the late 90’s.
After training I did try and develop my voice with singing lessons but due to a virus 5 years ago that’s been put on hold. Even losing my voice has taught me about the gift of sound.
Sound healing communicates what physical touch and language cannot.
I created this image ©️ especially for my 2 part one to one course “Songbird”, this is now almost complete and I have to thank my first student for trusting me in this process.

I will release more info soon about what the course entails, prices and availability.
What has been a meaningful sound experience for you? This could be a concert, playing your instrument, attending a sound bath or just listening to nature, I’d love to know and I’d be interested in collecting peoples experiences to incorporate into my manual.

Today I’ve been blessing these lovely Quartz crystals for my Angelic Reiki course next month 🪽
These crystals will be given to each participant in their angelic attunement and furthermore hold angelic codes- a beautiful keepsake from the training and something to be used as and when for healing ❤️‍🩹
The crystals make look a little foggy because after washing I anointed each one with a magical oil before placing in some chalice wells water with some fresh flowers from my garden. I blessed with reiki symbols and allowed the sun (very powerful around the solstice time ☀️) to evaporate the water around them.
Tomorrow I will wash again in mineral water, allow them to dry in the solstice sunlight and give them a lovely polish with a soft cloth. Then they will be safely stored away for the training.

Now for a moment imagine you are that Quartz crystal. You’ve been cleaned, massaged with oils, dipped in sacred waters and allowed to charge in the sun decorated with blossoms 🌺. Feels good doesn’t it ? 😉
