Sometimes “I’m fine” is the only answer you have… 🤍

And maybe a part of you means it.
While another part feels overwhelmed, tired, or just not okay 🌧️

Both of those things can exist at the same time.

There is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way.
There is no need to rush in and fix it 🕊️

If you can, take a small moment for yourself today
Pause… breathe… and gently notice what is there for you:

What am I feeling right now?
What might I need?

No judgement,
No pressure,
Just a little space to be with yourself 🌿

You deserve that kind of care too 🤍

This Easter bank holiday, there can be a lot of pressure to feel happy, social, or productive.

But in person-centred therapy, we honour something different; your experience, exactly as it is.

Whether this weekend feels joyful, heavy, restful, or somewhere in between… it’s valid.

You don’t have to force meaning or make big plans.

You don’t have to compare your weekend to anyone else’s.

Maybe today looks like:

🌼 Resting without guilt

🌼 Saying no to something that feels too much

🌼 Taking a quiet moment just for you

Wherever you are emotionally, you’re allowed to meet yourself there.

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been a gentle pause in content here.

In that space, something important is worth reflecting on.

Many of the people I work with arrive feeling overwhelmed, stretched, and under pressure to keep going, even when they are exhausted. There can be a belief that slowing down means falling behind, or that rest must be earned.

Yet in therapy, we often explore a different perspective.

🫧Stepping back can be a healthy and intentional choice.

💛Taking a break can support clarity, not hinder it.

Creating space can allow you to reconnect with what you truly need.
You do not have to reach burnout before you give yourself permission to pause.

☁️Rest is not a reward.
It is a requirement for emotional wellbeing.

Even short moments of stepping back, whether from work, social media, or daily pressures, can help you return with greater focus, calm, and understanding of yourself.
If you have been feeling overwhelmed recently, consider what it might be like to take a small step back, without guilt, without judgement.

Sometimes, that is where the most meaningful progress begins.

💐Mother’s Day can hold many different emotions.

For some, it’s a day of love, appreciation, and connection.
For others, it may bring grief, complicated relationships, longing, infertility, loss, or distance.

In person-centred therapy, we recognise that there is no single “right” way to feel today.

☁️You might be celebrating.
🌻You might be remembering.
☁️You might be grieving.
🌻You might be navigating mixed feelings.

All of those experiences are valid.

To the mothers and mother figures, I hope you have a wonderful day and feel appreciated in the ways that matter to you.

And if today feels heavy or complicated, please know you’re not alone in that either.

If this resonates with you, feel free to pause for a moment of kindness towards yourself today.
And if you know someone who might find today difficult, perhaps share a little compassion with them too.

We are so incredibly excited to announce our Charity of the Year this year is Over The Wall Camp

The partnership reflects our commitment to supporting causes that truly make a difference. Over The Wall Camp is a fantastic charity, it provides life-changing residential camps and programmes for children and young people living with serious illnesses and health challenges. The camps give them the chance to build confidence, independence and friendships in a safe, medically supported environment.

❤️‍🩹March is Self Harm Awareness Month.

In the UK, around 1 in 5 young people report that they have self harmed at some point. That is not attention seeking. That is distress without enough safe space to be heard.

Self harm is often a way of coping when emotions feel overwhelming, confusing, or even completely numb. It can bring a temporary sense of relief. A pause. A quieting. And for many, it can feel like the only option in that moment.

Coping is not the same as healing.
Healing begins where judgement ends. It begins when someone is met with compassion instead of criticism. When their experience is understood rather than minimised.

You are not broken for finding ways to survive. Your nervous system has been trying to protect you in the only way it knows how. And it is possible to learn new ways. Slowly. Gently. Safely.

There is always a story behind the scars. And every story deserves to be heard with care.

If this resonates with you, you do not have to carry it alone. Speaking to your GP or contacting NHS 111 can be a first step. Samaritans are also available 24 hours a day on 116 123.

Support is possible. Hope can exist alongside pain. And healing does not have to happen all at once.

As the week draws to a close, take a moment to acknowledge yourself. 💭

The early mornings. The unseen effort. The conversations that took courage. The feelings you carried quietly. You have moved through it all in your own way.

Whether this week felt steady or overwhelming, productive or heavy, you are still here. And that matters.

🌼Let the weekend be a gentle exhale.
🌼A softening.
🌼A space to rest without guilt.

You do not have to earn your rest.

You are worthy of it simply because you are human.

If this week stirred more than you could hold alone, you do not have to keep holding it by yourself.

Therapy isn’t just the 50 minutes in the room.

It’s the recipe that reminds me of you.
The line in a book that sounds like your voice.

A show that makes me think, this would be a great comfort show for them.
The note I write so I don’t forget a thought that might reach you.
The small things I pass in the day and think, they’d love that.

Remembering an important day that lands on a non-appointment day.

Because therapy is a relationship. And when you really know someone, care doesn’t clock out when the door closes. 🤍

There is a particular kind of pressure that comes from believing you should know by now.

What you want.
What your next step is.
Why you feel the way you do.

When answers do not arrive quickly, it is easy to turn that into self criticism.

But uncertainty is not incompetence.
It is part of being human.

In a world that rewards decisiveness and clarity, it can feel uncomfortable to sit with I do not know. Yet some of the most important shifts happen quietly, before we have language for them.

💭You are allowed to take time to understand yourself.
💭You are allowed to explore without a fixed outcome.
💭You are allowed to change your mind.

Not knowing is not a failure. It is often the beginning of something deeper

Childrens Mental Health Awareness Week invites us to pause and truly listen.

Children do not always have the language for what they feel, but their behaviour often speaks with honesty and courage. Anxiety, low mood and emotional distress can quietly shape a child’s world long before it is noticed.

In the UK, 1 in 6 children experience a mental health difficulty. Behind this statistic is a child longing to feel safe, understood and accepted exactly as they are.

When we offer children patience instead of pressure, curiosity instead of correction, we give them something powerful. We give them permission to be human.

Support does not need to be perfect. It needs to be present. A listening ear, a calm space, a trusting relationship can gently change the direction of a young life.

This week, and every week, let us remember that nurturing emotional wellbeing in childhood is not an extra. It is a foundation.
