I'm Zoe Harding and I'm an accredited Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Therapist. I have spent the majority of my adult life working in the public sector with survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault. I'm also a qualified Probation Officer, accredited Sexual Assault Crisis Worker and Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) and in a previous role I trained and developed hundreds of multi-agency professionals as Domestic Abuse Change Champions across Norfolk. It's not difficult to see that this is where my passion lies. After spending years seeing the impact of interpersonal trauma on people I was supporting, I wanted to do more. I decided to spend the next few years training as a Therapist so I could not only support people after trauma, I could also treat the trauma itself and help them live the life they deserve. I do this by providing one to one therapy sessions to people presenting with post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with symptoms which are interfering with their daily life. Some people experience PTSD following a single event such as a car accident, for others it may be multiple traumas (as a child or adult) including interpersonal trauma (e.g. domestic abuse or sexual assault), bereavement, birth trauma, or combat experiences. I can also work with a wide variety of issues including low self-esteem, anxiety, OCD, depression, and phobias. Often the adult we become is shaped by our childhood experiences and the core beliefs we develop about ourselves growing up. When we develop negative core beliefs about ourselves such as "I'm not good enough" or "I'm a bad person", this will impact how we view ourselves and others, the standards we set for ourselves, and the rules we live by. Secure Roots Therapy can help you take control of how you are feeling and nourish and develop as a person from the roots within to ensure long lasting change.
