IMPORTANT PATIENT ANNOUNCEMENT

The practice is experiencing significant technical difficulties this morning which is affecting our telephone lines and clinical computer system. Telephone lines and computer systems are not working at this time. We are not able to access computer systems at this time to check any information.

Technical experts are currently working at pace to try and resolve these issues as soon as possible. This is affecting a number of GP practices.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Due to a shortage of GPs, we have limited routine appointments available for the rest of this week. The practice will be operating an urgent-only service during this time.

Ulster University final year medical students get their results today. More than 70 newly qualified doctors will soon be on the wards. We encourage them to continue to learn their craft, to spread their wings, and we hope to welcome them back to Derry in years to come - we would certainly love to have them working alongside us as local GPs or as secondary care colleagues. The Derry GP Federation, on behalf of all local GPs practices, would like to warmly congratulate them on their achievements, to wish them all the best in their future careers and to recognise this as a monumental day for Derry.

IMPORTANT PATIENT ANNOUNCEMENT

We are currently in the process of contacting existing users of patient online services, with new log in details for Patient Access so that they can start to order their repeat medication online.

Patients who were previously signed up for this service should check their email accounts including junk mail over the next few weeks for correspondence from the practice with log in details and a user guide.

Patients who wish to sign up should contact the practice and a member of the team will assist you with signing up.

IMPORTANT PATIENT ANNOUNCEMENT

A limited number of routine GP appointments will be bookable from tomorrow 18th June. Normal booking procedures will apply.

The practice is in the process of working through the implementation of a new clinical computer system. This is a mandatory change for the practice.

Demand for routine GP appointments is extremely high and this necessary change in computer systems has placed a further significant demand on routine GP appointments. This situation is beyond the control of practice staff.

We apologise for any inconvenience this major service disruption has caused patients. Doctors and staff are working extremely hard to implementation this new clinical computer system and reduce the impact on patient services.
