We the family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us over the past few weeks. Your kind messages, cards, visits, and gestures have meant so much to us and have brought great comfort during such a difficult time.

Our sincere thanks to Fr. Ward who celebrated a beautiful Requiem Mass, and his words about Katrina touched us deeply. We are grateful to SallyMae Comey for her beautiful singing and music, which added so much to the Requiem Mass.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kieran Connor and his team at McClafferty Funeral Directors for their kindness, professionalism and support throughout the wake and funeral. Their guidance and attention to detail were such a great comfort to our family during such a difficult time. Thank you also to the gravediggers who prepared Katrina’s final resting place.

She was a truly special woman who meant everything to us. As a mum, she was caring and strong; as a wife, she was loving and devoted; and as a nana, she was full of warmth, kindness, and joy. We feel so lucky to have had her in our lives, and we will always treasure the memories we shared. Although life feels very different without her, we take comfort in knowing how loved she was and how much she loved all of us in return. She will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.

Thank you again for all your continued support and kindness.

Katrina’s Month Mind Mass will take place on Tuesday 5th May at 7pm in St. Joseph's Church, Galliagh. Everyone welcome.

A sincere thank you to all who came with us to say goodbye to Mammy, Mary Teresa Hegarty, recently. It is at times like this that family and friends are at their very best.

Our thanks to Sean and Ann, who came through for us when we needed it most, for myself, Jane, and my sisters, Cathy and Paula. Thank you.

To our husbands, John Buckley, John Coyle and Reza Jahromi, thank you too.

To the staff at Dale View House, independent living and nursing, who did a first-class job in looking after Mammy, your kindness will never be forgotten.

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerard (Jed) McClelland, peacefully at The Foyle Hospice on 27th April 2026.

Late of 2 Stewart’s Terrace. May he rest in peace.

Beloved son of the late Anthony and Nellie. Devoted father of Gavin and Diarmuid. Loving granda of Áine. A much loved brother of Eddie, Damian, Niall, Dermot, Mary, Grainne, Majella and the late John and Thomas. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends.

Jed’s remains will be reposing at his late home, 2 Stewart’s Terrace from 1pm tomorrow afternoon, Tuesday 28th April. A private cremation will take place at Lakeland’s Crematorium, Co. Cavan on Thursday 30th April.

Parking will be available at Brooke Park for the duration of Jed’s wake.

The wake house will be private from 9pm until 10am.

We, the family of the late Gertrude Butler, who passed away on the 1st April 2026, would like to sincerely thank everyone who offered sympathy, kindness and support during the recent bereavement of our beloved mother, sister and aunt.

We thank the people who attended her wake and funeral, and those who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards and messages of condolences. Hearing your stories and seeing how much she was thought of helped us more than words can say. Thank you for being there.

To our kind neighbours and friends who brought food to the wake or helped in anyway, our deepest appreciation. A special thanks to neighbour's in our street and on abercorn road for the beautiful flowers, your kindness did not go unnoticed.

Special word of thanks to the stoma nurses in Altnagelvin, Debbie and Miriam, the kindness, care and dignity you showed Gertrude and us as a family will forever be deeply appreciated. To the palliative care team Patricia and Cherrie without you we would not have been able to have that special time with our much loved mother, sister and aunt. A special thanks to Surgeon Mr. Gidwani for everything he did for Gertrude. The care, compassion, respect and support he showed to Gertrude and our family will always be remembered with gratitude.

Our sincere thanks to Fr. Mongan who celebrated a beautiful Requiem Mass, and his words about Gertrude touched us deeply. We are grateful to Erin and Isobel for their singing and music, which added so much to the Requiem Mass.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kieran Connor and his team at McClafferty Funeral Directors for their kindness, professionalism and support throughout the wake and funeral.
