A mother’s love is something that no one can explain. It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain. It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may. For nothing can destroy or take that love away.

Loving you was easy, missing you is so hard.

We the family of the late Sonny Kelly would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the kindness, support and sympathy we received during our recent loss.

We would like to thank everyone including family, friends and neighbours who attended the wake and funeral, sent messages, cards and flowers.

We would like to say a word of thanks to all the professionals involved in the care of Sonny in the past number of months. The fantastic doctors and nurses at Aberfoyle medical practice. To the incredible team of carers from Northwest Care, Strabane District and Marie Curie.

Many thanks to The Old Docks, Bridies Chippy (Trench Rd), Vivo (Strabane Old Rd), Blue Mobile, Tony Toland, Junior Morrison, Hillcrest, Paula Tracey and Marty Bonner for all your help and support during the wake. Your kindness and generosity was very much appreciated. Thanks to Cassidys Catering for providing refreshments after the funeral.

We would like to thank Fr. Patrick Lagan for the beautiful service. To Ciara, Ciaran and Ramon for providing such beautiful singing and music.

Finally, our sincerest thanks to Mr. Kieran Connor and all his staff at McClafferty Funeral Directors for the professional, attentive and dignified manner in which all aspects of Sonny’s wake and funeral were carried out and for the support we as a family have received. We will be forever grateful.

It is impossible to thank everyone who supported us as a family but please accept this acknowledgment as our sincere gratitude to everyone.

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel (Danny) Cavanagh, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on 2nd February 2026.

Late of 146 Strabane Old Rd and formerly of 72 Rinmore Drive, Creggan. May he rest in peace.

Beloved husband of Jacqueline. Devoted father of Michael, Danielle and Garth. Loving granda of Caolan, Jayden, Lana, Adam and Nathan. Precious son of the late Jimmy and Maisie. A much loved brother of Brian, John, Christopher, Rose, Frances, Tina and the late Patsy, Ann, Peter, Billy, Vincent, Terry and Valerie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of his wider family circle and friends.

Danny’s remains will be reposing at his late family home, 72 Rinmore Drive, Creggan from 5:30pm this afternoon, Tuesday 3rd February. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday 5th February at 10:20am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Creggan. Burial will take place afterwards in the City Cemetery.

The wake house will be private from 10pm until 11am.

Loving Opa of Charley, Tiernan, Cathaoir, Oisin, Fiann, Brogan, Ava, Mehmet, Medb and Keyan. A much loved brother to all of his brothers and sisters. The family of the late Paddy McGuinness wish to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on our very sad loss.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who called to the funeral home to pay their respects. Those who attended the funeral mass (in person or via we**am) and burial.

For those who sent floral tributes, cards and messages of condolences.

A special word of thanks to Dr. Sweeney, Paddys GP, Dr. G McCluskey, Neurology, Nurses, Carers and all the staff who Cared for Paddy throughout his years in Culmore Manor.

To all those who participated in the Mass, especially Fr. Micheál McGavigan for the lovely sentiments during the mass and to Charlene McDaid, for the absolutely beautiful singing & music throughout the mass.

The family of the late Phil McCauley would like to express our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation for all the kindness and support that has been shown during the heartbreaking loss of our wife, mother, nana, and great nana.

To all who attended the wake and funeral, sent messages, brought flowers, brought food, and helped in any way, your help and support were greatly appreciated.

To the carers of the Western Trust, Geraldine, Stephanie, and Lisa, the girls from Bryson Care, the nurses Catherine and Katrina, the staff of Aberfoyle medical practice, especially Lisa Doherty, your kindness and friendship will forever be remembered.

To Grainne, Fionnuala, Betty, Gerry, Eileen, Monica, Louise, Moira, and Leona, we are extremely grateful for the help and support you provided our family when we needed it most. We will always remember the kindness that you showed to wee Phil and our family during this difficult time. To her brothers, Jackie, Marvin, Paul, and Dave, we thank you for always putting a smile on her face, even on her darkest days.

To Sr. Ethna McDermott, thank you for your guidance, support, and friendship. To Kieran Connor, and all his staff at McClafferty Funeral Directors, Fr. This journey has been heartbreaking for all of us. Phil’s strength, courage, and dignity have helped carry us through. Her gentle soul will stay with us forever.
