HURT, Have Your Tomorrows

HURT, Have Your Tomorrows Hurt (Have your Tomorrows) is a unique, voluntary organisation offering a holistic approach to addiction.

HURT (Have Your Tomorrows) is a voluntary organisation supporting individuals and their family who have been impacted negatively by drug / alcohol problems. HURT treatment centre offers a confidential; non-judgmental approach to those affected by dependency and addiction. HURT was founded by our current Coordinator Sadie O’Reilly who tragically lost her only son Tony through a he**in drug addiction in 1999. The heartache and loss experienced by Sadie and her family throughout this time served to strengthen Sadie’s resolve in her belief that no other mother or family should have to suffer the death of a loved one through drug addiction. Sadie’s belief fuelled by her commitment, determination and passion was the driving force behind the conception of HURT which Sadie dedicates to the memory of Tony. Initially financing the HURT project herself, Sadie provided a confidential listening ear service, family support and a drop-in-centre for anyone seeking advice and assistance in relation to drugs and alcohol. Securing minor funding Sadie and two volunteers moved into HURT’s current premises at 14 Clarendon Street, in the heart of Derry City. HURT staff and volunteers provide a holistic care package to individuals seeking assistance in relation to their own or a loved one’s addiction issue. Our services include Auricular acupuncture, complimentary therapies – to include reflexology and massage, clients are then offered ten weeks of counselling. We work on the ground with our communities regardless of race, s*x, gender, status political or religious beliefs. HURT have in place and adhere to equal opportunities, child protection and confidentiality policies. HURT is an accredited education training centre and offer O.C.N. (Open College Network) T.Q.U.K (Training and Qualifications UK) and C.P.C.A.B (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) training programs such as Drug and Alcohol awareness, Counselling, listening Skills and basic IT. We deliver preventative educational programmes within local schools youth clubs and community based initiatives.

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and compassion of women everywhere.

At HURT, we see every day the incredible courage of women who face challenges, support their families, and rebuild their lives with determination and hope. Some of the people who walk through our doors—whether seeking support or offering it—are women whose strength inspires us all.

We also remember that HURT was founded by a mother, Sadie O’Reilly, whose love for her son and determination to help other families turned heartbreak into hope for countless others. Her vision continues to guide the work we do today.

On this International Women’s Day, we honour the women who support, uplift, and stand beside those affected by addiction. Your compassion changes lives.

💔 “How many more sons and daughters must we lose?”

Today, our founder Sadie O’Reilly shares her story in the Derry Journal — a story born from heartbreak, but one that fuels HURT’s mission every single day.

Having lost her only son Tony to he**in, Sadie knows the devastating toll addiction takes on families. That pain has driven her to create a space of support, understanding, and hope for anyone affected by drug and alcohol dependency.

At HURT, we offer counselling, therapies, and a listening ear to help families and individuals navigate the journey toward healing. Together, we can make sure no one has to face this alone.

We’re super proud of Viv and all of our amazing volunteers 💛
Their hard work not only keeps our charity running but also gives back to the community. What started as a simple idea blossomed into a magical 'Say Yes to the Dress' experience, made possible by the incredible generosity of our city ✨
A huge thank you to everyone who donated, helped & supported the event, you made the day unforgettable! 🥰 The Quirky Corner

The event was held after a donation of 14 First Communion dresses from a primary school in Derry.

Check out the St Cecilia's College, Derry students at the Foyle Port.

As part of our Lead'her'ship Navigators Programme, young people had the opportunity to interview Niamh, Louise, Bill, and Lynette, gaining real insight into leadership, teamwork, and the many different roles that keep Foyle Port moving every day.

A great collaborative piece of work between St Cecilia's college, Foyle port and HURT.

Building future leaders together. 🌈
