Volunteer Needed – Free Verruca Treatment
We’re looking for an adult with a verruca on their heel who would be happy to take part in a podiatry training session.
The treatment offered is verruca needling. This is a minor procedure carried out under local anaesthetic (a tibial nerve block) to fully numb the foot. A sterile needle is used to stimulate the body’s immune response to help clear the verruca. The procedure is commonly used for persistent verrucae and is generally well tolerated.
Treatment will be provided free of charge and carried out by qualified podiatrists in a supervised clinical setting.
The session will be recorded for educational purposes and may be used on social media, so you must be comfortable with this.
Please note:
• Suitability will be assessed prior to treatment.
• This procedure may not be appropriate for everyone (for example, individuals with certain medical conditions, circulation issues, or who are pregnant).
• As with any procedure, there are potential risks which will be fully explained in advance.
Written informed consent will be required prior to treatment and recording. This will include consent for the procedure itself and separate consent for the use of video/images for educational and social media purposes.
If you are interested, please send me a private message for further information.
