Why Long-Term Support Changes Everything

There is a specific kind of "gutted" feeling when a midwife or scan reveals your baby is breech.

Suddenly, the vaginal birth you’ve been planning for feels like it’s slipping away. The conversation shifts toward C-sections and consultant appointments, and things begin to escalate fast.

This is exactly why I prioritize working with my clients long-term rather than cramming everything into the final weeks.

I’ve been working with this mum to be since she was 9 weeks pregnant; she is now just days away from her due date.

Because we built a foundation over six months, she trusted my guidance a lot. When she sent me that "baby is breech" message, she didn't just accept it as final, she showed up and followed my research-based recommendations.

The result? Baby is now head down. Because we leaned on evidence and trust, she is back on track for the low-risk vaginal birth she deserves.

Was your baby ever breech, how did you feel?

Lime bikes make your mind wander.

I use one daily, and multiple times a day, i have some time to reflect.

This week i had some of thoughts

1) riding a lime bike when pregnant, i saw it and i didnt know what i thought, i loved it and thought go on thats amazing, exercise movement, doing whatever activity you can during your pregnancy. But then i thought about others, the speed some people go at, how tight canels, roads, lanes can get and the dangers of it. So i asked my followers and they had about a 35/65 split of No to Yes.

2) lotus birth, you don't see often and when they are requested it's not always possible to complete as events change. A proper lotus birth is where the placenta stays on for days, and it falls off. But sometimes it's asked for the cord to stay attached until the placenta is delivered. This week it was possible and completed by an amazing consultant during an instrumental birth, the parents got what they originally wished for on their birth plan, despite events changing from a low risk birth to then going to theatre for instrumental. Communication is key.

3) i cared for a woman yesterday, didn't' speak a word of English and I a word of Spanish. But we got by for hours with the language line for consent and planning, google translate for causal conversation and getting to know each other. So i went on my break and a fantastic spanish speaker midwive became available, I'm so happy she was. It ended up being a beautiful, calm VBAC. But having someone speak her language, immediately gaining that trust, language to communicate slowly, simply and softly no doubt helped. All while I was relaxing having my chicken and rice πŸ˜‚

4) 30 weeks is too late, i am consistently saying no to potentially clients, who reach out to work with me after 30 weeks when they see our amazing success stories. You can get benefits in 8-12 weeks for sure, but there is a reason we have a 93% vaginal delivery success rate. Working with our members from as early as possible to build the steps research shows gets success. So after 30 weeks, I don't want to try and cram everything in, rush things. So i have to say no to protecting them and me.

Labour slowed down?

You might have often heard slow to progress, which can happen for a few reasons.

And its one of the popular reasons for CS during labour

But peanut balls, what a difference they can make.

Some of the research online now shows πŸ“ˆ

Up to 2 hour shorter labour ⌚

92% spontaneous vaginal birth rate compared to 75% when those used a peanut ball during labour verus those who didnt 😲

And you may think why is it so successful.

The peanut ball can mimic the mechanisms of labour.

From personal experience

It seems like midwives and doulas compete against each other a lot

But it doesn't have to be like that.

I see so many amazing doulas on the ward, and when you have one, the room itself is so much more wholesome.

Communication is better, energy is thriving, women feel more comfortable and their birth experience is better.

The delivery mode can change at any moment. Thats something no one can control

But the 4-8-12 hours in the room when everyone is working together, the women and her family are winning.

Doulas spend more time with the women than midwives, usually building relationships, rapport and trust, weeks or months in advance antenatally.

So we as midwives understand why you advocate so much to maintain their birth wishes

But things change

And at that moment you have a responsibility to adjust also, to communicate with the situation, findings, clinical observations and explain in your knowledge what options or steps may or may not be recommended next and why

Don't shut down medical advice, especially in front of the women that's unprofessional

And remember everyone wants the best outcome for the family

While many of you have a scar you dont like

And wish it was better, even, less painful, more natural

Mums inside our postpartum program are getting results after results.

But it didn't happen overnight Let's be honest, this mum worked bloody hard, but less than you think..

Scar massage 5-10mins per day adds up to a lot over 2 months

Strength work 20mins at a time builds a lot over 60 days over

1-2 Mobility exercises every morning or evening will reduce your pain over month 1 and 2.

So you don't have to spend hours, leave your kids, feel guilty focusing on yourself

Its literally right there for you

You deserve to feel damn bloody good in your own skin.

This is your last opportunity, as our next 8 week challenge starts tomorrow.

Our group is lively now, mums are planning their week ahead, going through their rehab plan in advance

And this could be you also

What's that saying?

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much"

After having 3 CS this mum decided to ask for help, both during pregnancy in prep for her elective CS, but also the benefits it can achieve postpartum...

And her message to me this morning says it all.

Whats different?

Asking for help, after 2 previous CS doing it alone, this time no guessing, no insecurities about whats safe, whats right, what's wasting time and money.

Just things that actually work.

From day 1 i had her wearing the binder.

Compression, reduce swelling, less pain, promoting healing, protection

This is things that unfortunately are not educated well, rest is the number one recommendation for recovery.

You ned to move to speed up your healing, the simple things like moving to help you fart, poo - the impact this can have negatively on you early postpartum is awful to see.

Bed bound, excruciating pain. Unable to do the simple things like those.

Thats the basics of recovery

But forgot about.

Now we dive deeper into her recovery more and more.

Core, posture, scar, & strength

Her scar literally disappeared 😲.

This one might resonate with you, had a CS, a scar you dislike and it totally affected your body confidence.

Your not alone, this mum felt the exact same

So she reached out and we got to work.

Thankfully she did, because now her results are life changing for her.

Not just how it looks but how it feels, on those summer holiday, family trips, hen parties she wants to feel bloody confident in the sun β˜€οΈ

And now she does after giving her body the time care and attention it deserved after having x2 Babies.

If you want to join our waiting list for our next 8 week Postpartum program, the exact one this mum joined.

DM the words WAITING LIST, to see what number on the list you are

And to have first offers if ones become available

Apply these fundamentals and you will get success

While they are often over looked, thought about here and there and done inconsistently

When done correctly, consistently and combined, success happens.

Just like this mum and the hundreds before.

Looking at this mum i thought and said to her. You look great, stop being harsh on yourself

But after always exercising, having x2 CS she lost her confidence.

So we made the plan and ensured these 3 things.

1) scar health - this needs to be consistent multiple times per week, preferably daily in the next 8 weeks.

2) posture alignment, correcting this will reduce your pain but also reduce the lower abdomen she dislikes

3) strength work, which is full body and including core. While you're breaking muscle down with massage, you also need to dive deep into strength elsewhere.

Deep core work when done correctly is crazy successful

And as you see photo by photo, slide by slide, what a successful journey πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

This wouldnt have been possible without her daily commitment to herself, but also reaching out and joining our 8 week program.

This could be you, if you join for Mondays intake, our next 8 week Postpartum challenge

How do i fix my core Ciaran?

After having kids its the most popular question i get asked and one of the main reasons mums join my 8 week postpartum challenge

But why are we different from other programs?

We test, gather as much info from you as possible and build programs from evidence based research.

It's how this mum went from the beginning to the end.

How incredible did she look at the end?

When we knew her delivery mode, where her body was showing weakness and what her baseline is on day 1.

We were able to dive into the rehab plan.

And test, but very importantly measure every 1-2 weeks the progress.

That was such an important part

Measuring success, so she also felt the benefits and motivation to keep going.

Once she felt the program was working by seeing results quickly by measuring different things, i knew her end result would be life changing

Because now she had the fire to keep going and achieve what she deserves

Why do you not get the results you deserve?

You might not have had either πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

The birth may not be what you had wished

And the new scar you have may be something you hate.

But it doesn't have to stay like that forever.

Heres proof yet again of scars vanishing with the right time and care.

Scars that are painful, numb, red, clearly visible or tight to name a few

Are scars that are screaming for help.

This mum knew she didn't want to keep her scar the way it was, she knew she wanted to make it the best one possible and she was up for the challenge.

Every single day she showed up for 8 weeks, 8 short weeks!

So what's stopping you?

Why haven't you signed up for our next 8 week challenge starting on Monday?

Imagine if you got these results just in time for your summer holiday?

What if you were only 8 short weeks away from achieving something your friends and family told you wasn't possible? "Mum tums are common, you wont have time"...

But everywhere you look, everyone is getting results and you're still waiting for the "perfect moment"

20/04/2026

This is where most mums go wrong in their recovery ❌

Not knowing what type of scar they have, by knowing this you give yourself the best opportunity to heal.

When you know your scar, you know where its weak and what area you have to focus on, no guessing just direct feedback and proof.

You also know what ointment is best to use for the scar you have to build the scar you love, as different scars need different ingredients at different times

But before all of that you need to test and that's the important bit.

Testing your scar to understand all the clues and signs its telling you so you can heal and have forever a scar you deserve

For everyone who joined us today on our 8 week recovery program, through our priority list.

This is what you have to look forward to.

Finally finding the answers you need and the results you deserve

Will you be joining them?
