About Us

Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors is an independent, 3rd generation, family owned business with over 50 years experience in caring for the bereaved and their families in Derry and across the wider Northwest. Originally established by friends Charlie Bradley and Denis McLaughlin, the business was then taken on by Charlie's sons, John and Alex. Following John's death in 2017, Alex's son, Charles, rejoined him within the business to take over running the business. In addition to Alex and Charles, the team at Bradley & McLaughlin have many years combined experience in the funeral industry - Denis McLaughlin (Denis' son), Charlie McLaughlin, Joe Parke, Kieran Dunne and Paul Farren. We offer at need funeral services and bespoke funeral plans with flexible repayment arrangements and pre-arranged/pre-paid funeral packages. Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors Ltd is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279). The death has occurred of

Seán (Chico) CANNING

CANNING, 22nd January 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, with his loving partner Irene at his side, SEÁN (Chico), beloved partner of Irene Thompson, loving father of Gary and the late Damien, Seán, Caolán, Caoimhe, Caoimhín, Ruairí and Emmet, a devoted granda to all his grandchildren, cherished son of Josephine and the late Seán, dear and loving brother of Declán, Una, Ciaran, Conor and Fergal, and a caring brother-in-law and uncle. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle.

Chico will be reposing at his home, 10 Ballymore Park, on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th January from 10:00am to 10:00pm.

Car parking available at Seán Dolans GAA.

Funeral leaving his home on Sunday 25th January at 12:30pm to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 1:15pm. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

HARKIN (née Cassidy), 20th January 2026, suddenly at her home, 128 Ard Bán, M**f, DONNA (formerly of Rosemount and Hazelbank), beloved wife of Jimmy, devoted daughter of Phyllis and the late Gerry, cherished sister of Andrea, Glen, Shane and Jason and a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle.

Donna will be reposing at her home on Wednesday 21st January from 5:00pm.

Funeral leaving her home on Friday 23rd January at 9:15am to Holy Family Church, Ballymagroarty for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

DOHERTY (née McCarron), 19th January 2026, peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family at Altnagelvin Hospital, JEANETTE, beloved wife of Damien, loving mother of Gemma and Aidan, dear mother-in-law to Anthony and Charlotte, devoted grandmother of Eilidh, Lyra, Rye and Annie, dear daughter of the late Charlie and Mary McCarron, cherished sister of Mary, Anne, Sean, Pat, Martha and Charles, and a devoted aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Jeanette will be reposing at her daughter Gemma's home 19 Bayview Gardens, (BT47 6SN), on Monday 19th. January from 7:00 p.m.

I missed you quietly today,

brushing past me,
