About Us

Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors is an independent, 3rd generation, family owned business with over 50 years experience in caring for the bereaved and their families in Derry and across the wider Northwest. Originally established by friends Charlie Bradley and Denis McLaughlin, the business was then taken on by Charlie's sons, John and Alex. Following John's death in 2017, Alex's son, Charles, rejoined him within the business to take over running the business. In addition to Alex and Charles, the team at Bradley & McLaughlin have many years combined experience in the funeral industry - Denis McLaughlin (Denis' son), Charlie McLaughlin, Joe Parke, Kieran Dunne and Paul Farren. We offer at need funeral services and bespoke funeral plans with flexible repayment arrangements and pre-arranged/pre-paid funeral packages. Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors Ltd is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279). We are full members of the Irish Association of Funeral Directors and adhere to their Code of Practice.

Frankie O'DONNELL

The family of the late Frankie O'Donnell who sadly passed away on 8th August would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supporter us during our recent bereavement.

A heartfelt thanks to those who attended the wake, the funeral and those who sent mass cards and floral tributes.

We would also like to extend our thanks to Fr Stephen of Longtower Chapel for the celebration of the Requiem Mass. Our thanks also to Sarah and Damian for the beautiful music.

We would also like to extend a special word of thanks to the Intensive Care Unit, the Emergency Department and staff of the Templemore Sports Complex for the care and compassion they supported Frankie with and also us as a family.

A word of thanks to all our friends and family and work colleagues.

Lastly, thank you to Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors for their dignified and professional manner in carrying out the funeral arrangements.

Frankie's Month Mind Mass will be celebrated on Thursday 4th September at 7.15pm at Holy Family Chapel.

Kathleen McDAID (née Green)

McDAID (née Green), 31st August 2025, peacefully at Oakleaves Care Home, surrounded by her loving family, KATHLEEN, (formerly of Bishop Street), beloved wife of the late Manus, loving mother of Damien, Margaret, Deirdre (John) and the late babies Sam and Brendan, devoted grandmother of Mary-Jane, Aoibhe and Daniel, dear and loving daughter of the late Sarah and Thomas Green and foster-daughter of the late Margaret and Joe Cullen, cherished sister of Vonnie, Margaret, Gerard, Philip and the late Billy, Robert, Jackie, Helen, Ann, Pa**ie, Margaret, Kitty, Sophie, Paddy, Joe, babies John and Elizabeth. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle.

Kathleen will be reposing at her daughter Deirdre’s home, 9 Grove Manor, Fir Road.

House strictly private today (Sunday) and all welcome to visit on Monday 1st September from 1:00pm to 9:00pm.

Funeral leaving there on Tuesday 2nd September at 9:20m to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Anne SHANNON (née McCool)

Anne Shannon, nee McCool, passed away peacefully in the presence of her two daughters, Lisa and Kelly, and her son-in-law, Declan. Anne will be sadly missed by her husband, Eddie, her daughters, Lisa and Kelly, their husbands Declan and Paul, and her grandson Eoin. Anne will also be sadly missed by her family in Derry - Mary, Betty, Liam, Jim, Cathy and Patricia.

A Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated in Anne's memory on Tuesday, 2nd Sept at 7.30pm in the Long Tower Chapel, followed by tea and sandwiches in the "Wee Nuns Cafe".

All who knew Anne are kindly invited to attend.

Joseph LEPPARD

Joseph Leppard, passed peacefully on the 29th August 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Living in Killea Co. Donegal, originally from Melmore Gardens, Creggan, Derry.

Much loved father of Orla, Caoimhe and Cillian. Sorely missed by Annette, son-in-law Michael, Yue and Pádhraic, his beloved grandchildren Ruairi and Tadhg and much loved brother and uncle.

Reposing at his home in Killea, Co. Donegal on Sunday from 3 – 7 pm.

Funeral will take place on Monday 1st September at 10:00 am in St. Eugene’s Cathedral, followed by burial at Derry City Cemetery.

The Late Niall Conaghan

We the family of the late Niall Conaghan wish to express our deepest and sincere thanks to everyone who supported us, who came to the wake, funeral, sent mass cards, messages and texts of sympathy during our difficult time.

A special thanks to Fr. Daniel McFaul and the singers for the beauitful requiem mass and burial of our dear son, brother and daddy.

STEWART, 25th. August 2025, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, Anna Marie, beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Anna, loving sister of Philip. Loved and will be sadly missed by the entire family circle.

Anna Marie will be reposing at her home 20 Racecourse Road on Thursday 28th. August from 2:00 p.m.

Died 30th July 2025

We the husband Tony, sons and daughters and the extended family circle of the late Majella Devine would like to express our sincere and deepest gratitude to all our family, friends and neighbours and to everyone who sympathised with us throughout our recent sad loss.

Thank you to everyone who attended the wake and funeral and sent cards messages and flowers.

To everyone who provided food Jamm Cafe, The Cosh, The Branch Bar and Grill, The Crusty Bap and Marks Shop and who helped out in any way, we are so grateful for your support and kindness.

A special thank you to all the doctors nurses and staff of Ward 24 and Doctor Mc Carron for all their care and compassion through Majella's illness.

We would like to thank Father Kevin Mulhern for the lovely funeral mass and Erin Carlin and Isobel Caldwell for the beautiful music.

The family of the late Niamh Bonner who sadly passed away on 29th July 2025, would like to express our gratitude and thanks to everyone who supported us during our bereavement.

We would like to send a heartfelt thanks to those who attended the wake, the funeral and to everyone who sent mass cards and flowers.

Our family would like to thank Fr. McFaul of St. Mary's Church, Creggan for the beautiful requiem mass, Erin Carlin who organised the music, Sinead Burnside and Ramon Ferguson who sang beautifully. Thank you also to Beechwood Flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements.

Nathaniel Black

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Nat Black of Ludden, Buncrana (formerly Belfast), on Saturday 23rd August, peacefully, after a short stay at Balmoral View Care Home, Belfast.

He was much loved by his family circle, children Dolores, Deirdre, Maura and David, grandchildren Elspeth, Aidan, Rory, Patrick, Matthew, Mollie, Katie and Manus, and great grand daughters Freya and Maddie. By his sons and daughter-in-law Jonathan, Clive and Rush, all his in-laws, nephews and nieces, the partners of his grandchildren and the wider family.

He was pre-deceased by son Nathaniel and wife Dolores, and by all his siblings.

Nat’s remains will rest in Ludden Cottage (at Links View Park entrance), F93 YH5C.

Family and friends welcome on Monday and Tuesday from 12noon to 2:00pm and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.

Nat's Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday 27th August at 10:00am in St. Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery, Derry.

Deeply regretted by the wider family circle and friends.

McCARTHY (née Kelly), 22nd August 2025, peacefully at Edenballymore Lodge Care Home, surrounded by her loving family, EILEEN (formerly of Barry Street), loving wife of the late John, mother of Christine, Mary and Patricia, grandmother and great-grandmother, daughter of the late Jim and Cissie and sister of the late May, Veronica, Kathleen, Olive and James. Sadly missed by the wider family circle.

Eileen will be reposing at her daughter Mary’s home, 15 Liscannor Park, Foyle Springs, on Saturday 23rd August from 5:00pm.
