It was a lovely surprise to receive this beautiful bouquet of flowers from an amazing patient. It has been an honour to have been part of this lady’s rehabilitation journey. She had such an iron will and fantastic family support, which enabled her to improve more than I imagined she would.

The weather may be miserable but it’s not going to dampen my mood. I have been treating a 91 year old gentleman who broke his hip in November and today he walked for the first time since his operation 🙌😃

Exercise can boost your mood, strengthen muscles and bones, improve joint mobility, increase cardiovascular fitness and improve cognition. It can also help you to continue to do the things you love! So, start today!

It's difficult to start exercising at any age but particularly when you are older. It is so important for your health to do regular exercise that includes strengthening. In our 40s our muscle mass starts to decline, more so in woman due to hormanal changes. Regular exercise has multiple benefits including keeping you independent for longer, improves health both physically and mentally. Find something that you enjoy. Start slowly and build up. Plan when you are going to do it, so that you are more likely to stick to it. Make yourself a promise that you will do the best you can for you. Be selfish, you only have one body.
