HPV vaccination, cervical screening, & timely treatment for cell changes can all help prevent cervical cancer.

📢 Changes to NHS Cervical Screening Results from September 2025
From September, the NHS will begin sending negative cervical screening results directly through the NHS App.
✅ If your test result is negative, you’ll receive an NHS App message and a notification.
📩 If the message isn’t read within 72 hours, a letter will still be sent as a backup.
📬 Abnormal result letters will continue to be sent by post for now.
Make sure you have the NHS App downloaded and your notifications turned on so you don’t miss important updates.

When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.
Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.
You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.
