Having a positive mindset doesn’t mean you have to be happy all of the time.

It means that even on hard days, you know that there are better days coming.

So knowing where to channel my energy through my days at the moment really helps to navigate any tough times. I can still bring the energy in my classes and it’s not at a detriment to my wellbeing because my learned coaching techniques and practices as well as dance help me to heal 💜

🟣 ADULT Street Dance @ Sarah Taylor Dance Studios Tuesdays 7:30pm-8:15pm

🟣 LADIES ONLY Dance Fitness @ Transformher LFG Wednesdays 5:15pm-6pm

🟣 BRAVE FESTIVAL (Majorette Workshop) @ Bradford Arts Centre Saturday 1pm - 2pm

🟣 ADULT Dance Fitness @ Birstall Community Centre Mondays 7:15pm - 8pm

I know the evenings are getting darker, the temperature is dropping and all you want to do stay in your house… Ha😂 i feel you!!

But coming to one of my classes or workshops will be worth it 🤩 - Definitely brighten up your autumn 🍂 evenings!!

Mental health encompasses the overall well-being of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, manifesting as the ability to cope with life's stresses, work productively, and maintain healthy relationships.

“When we say “Good" mental health, it doesn't mean being happy all the time but rather feeling self-controlled, hopeful, and able to manage challenges.
When we talk about “Poor" mental health it involves having persistent feelings, thoughts, or behaviors that cause distress or interfere with daily life, such as difficulty functioning at work or in social situations and becoming isolated and anxious.

What Good Mental Health Looks Like:
🔸Emotional well-being: Feeling hopeful.
🔸Psychological well-being: Having a sense of purpose.
🔸Social well-being: Making and maintaining good relationships.
🔸Resilience: Being able to cope with the normal stresses of life.
🔸Productivity: Managing yourself and learning effectively.

What Poor Mental Health Can Look Like:
🔸Difficulty with thoughts and feelings: Experiencing persistent mood swings, or struggling managing emotions.
🔸Functional impairment: Struggling to perform daily tasks or maintain relationships.
🔸Withdrawal: Isolating yourself from social activities and loved ones.
🔸Physical symptoms: Changes in sleep patterns (insomnia or oversleeping), irritability, or constant feelings of fatigue.

Key Points to Remember…
🔸Mental health is a spectrum: It's a continuum that everyone experiences differently.
🔸It fluctuates: Mental health is not static and can change over time.
🔸Not always constant happiness: Good mental health doesn't mean feeling happy all the time, but rather having the ability to bounce back from difficult feelings easily.
🔸Seek help when needed: If you notice persistent negative changes in your thinking, feeling, or behavior that disrupt your life, it's important to speak to a mental health professional.

🌟 Can you help us with a raffle prize? 🌟

As many of you know, I volunteer at the Yorkshire Carnival Association (YCA) – a children’s dance charity that relies solely on fundraising to keep going 💖🤩

We’ve got our end of year YCA Bridlington Universal Championships🏆 coming up at The SPA, Bridlington, and as part of the event we’ll be holding a raffle.

If any lovely people or local businesses are able to donate a prize (big or small!) we would be so, so grateful 🙏🏾 . It all goes towards supporting the children and keeping dance accessible for everyone.

Every time I go to Trinity Network i come out smiling 😊 - this group are ace!!

Whilst in our DANCE ON session yesterday
we exercised our brains, our bodies and our mouths (with all the laughter 😂) Vera! You were cracking me up 🤣🤣🤣…

Super grateful and appreciative of my line of work as it’s something that keeps me going when i’m not operating at 💯%… Participants of my classes help and support me as much as i help and support them 💚

We had such a laugh 🤣🤣 this week, we’re currently creating our showcase performance for the Dance On Xmas 🎄 Party and we’re doing something different this year - always pushing the boundaries!!
