Its been a busy week but with plenty of time for relaxation and reflection.

Shrove Tuesday brought us together for an uplifting church service from Rector Jeremy Parsons. Of course we enjoyed challenging each other to flip pancakes 🥞 and eat a few too! Thank you to The King's Church who sang us a thoughtful collection of old and new hymns today. Residents were really touched by their kindness and joyful music.

Ramadan has also begun for some of our colleagues so we wished them Ramadan Kareem and will find out more about Eid celebrations next month. In the meantime, we look forward to activities this week with a Chinese theme following the start of the Year of the Horse. 🐎🏮There's always something to celebrate here!

Some magical moments during our Valentine's Day💞 celebrations today. Special thanks to amazing singer Kata Soul who performed a beautiful selection of love songs for us. We sang, we danced and we had some giggles along the way!🎤🕺💃

Valentine's picture bingo brought us together this afternoon making new friends and enjoying each other's company over coffee and chocolate. ☕🍫 With no rain in sight and fantastic company its been a special day all round. 🩷

🎉 A Truly Special 100th Birthday Celebration at Oxford Manor Care Home 🎉

Oxford Manor Care Home in Didcot is honoured to be hosting a wonderful weekend of “magic moments” as we celebrate the incredible life of Phyllis on her 100th birthday 💖✨

The celebrations will include a very special live performance from the Didcot Primary Academy choir, who will be singing a heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday, a moment sure to touch everyone’s hearts 🎶💐

Alongside this, Phyllis enjoyed live musicians, a bespoke three-tier birthday cake, and a delicious buffet, all shared with family and friends coming together to mark this remarkable milestone 🎂🥂

This week our very own Phil will be celebrating 100 wonderful years surrounded by friends and family.

We're sure there are some special treats planned but can you help us reach 100 birthday cards for her? Feel free to drop off any cards at Oxford Manor by Thursday lunchtime as we'll make sure Phil gets the pleasure of looking at them all on her special day in addition to her card from the King! 🎉🎂🍾

Over the weekend, Oxford Manor Care Home was delighted to support the launch of Cycling Without Age Didcot (CWAD), a truly inspiring initiative that brings joy, connection and wellbeing to the community.

Residents and the team thoroughly enjoyed being “whisked away” by the wonderful volunteer-led group, whose mission is to give lesser-abled passengers the opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy relaxing wellbeing rides on electric tricycles, all pedalled by dedicated volunteers.

It was a pleasure to see so many smiles and the simple happiness that comes from fresh air, movement and shared moments. We’re incredibly proud to support such a meaningful project that helps keep people connected to their community. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this launch so special, we’re already looking forward to the next ride! 🌿✨

🌧️💨 It may be a little windy and rainy outside, but here at Oxford Manor Care Home, the atmosphere has been full of warmth, laughter and fun!

Over the last few days, our residents have been enjoying wonderful live entertainment, and a huge thank you to Kata Soul for bringing your incredible talent, energy and joy into our home 🎶✨ You truly lifted everyone’s spirits.

And when the weather tried to dampen our plans… we simply brought the fun indoors! Our very own indoor snowball fight had everyone smiling, laughing and joining in ❄️😂

No matter the weather, there’s always something special happening at Oxford Manor 💙

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Three Kings Day yesterday. Rector Jeremy led a beautiful service for Epiphany, accompanied by the Wise Men. Afterwards, Residents came together to enjoy Chef's delicious traditional Spanish Rosca de Reyes cake and we wished him a 'Feliz Dia de Reyes!' .

Residents tell us they love learning about colleagues cultures and traditions. When they are this tasty we all agree!

🎄✨ Making Christmas Dreams Come True! ✨🎄

At Oxford Manor Care Home, we know that sometimes the simplest wishes can bring the biggest joy. Recently, one of our residents shared a special Christmas wish, to see real reindeer! 🦌❤️

By listening carefully and working together as a team, we were able to make that dream a reality. Seeing the delight on our resident’s face, and the smiles from families, staff, and local visitors, reminded us all of the power of truly listening and acting on what matters most to the people we care for.

It’s moments like these that show why person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do, because when we work together as a team, we can create experiences that bring joy, connection, and lasting memories.
