Massive shout out to Kevin who came in with a knee injury from a training run falling downhill on a mountain trail. After an MRI scan, his patience and adherence to rehabilitation meant he not only made the start line, but successfully competed at the UTMB Mont Blanc challenge 🏔👏🏻

Great to catch up with again after an incredible comeback performance racing at the weekend! It’s been great to partner up to support Guy and I’ve no doubt this is the first of many exciting racing updates! 💪🏻👏🏻

Posted • What an honest race! the hard work had been banked but up until yesterday I had nothing tangible to attribute the sacrifices to. The relief of stringing together a good race is real, especially given that I had spent half the winter preseason coming to terms with the doctors words of “its highly unlikely you will ever be competitive in triathlon again”, a blow that I wasn’t prepared for and still terrifies me.

Yesterday was one of the first races I have ever attended by myself, no friends or family, just me and the sport I love! It was such a treat to race and then catch up with likeminded individuals after slogging it out against each other for 4-5 hours, to finally be in the environment again whereby we push our limits and then reflect on the nonsense and data gathering which occurs after the race is something which I used to take for granted.

I hope everyone had the race they wanted yesterday and I for one am just delighted to be back in the mix and hunting again! Whether I’m fifth of fiftieth this little guy always gives me a hero’s welcome 🐶

As we enter a new month, the Government have released their targets for our way out of lockdown so why not do the same!

Set yourself 3 goals: One to do today(!), one for this week and one for the end of the month! 🗓

🎯 Your target can be a simple action/activity, it may be a job you’ve put off for a while or it could an exercise goal setting a time or distance to achieve.

🤓 Goal setting can help us feel positive, help us focus and provide a boost in our mental well-being. Just make sure you’re goals are achievable and realistic - you could even add a reward as an incentive 👏🏻

Today is the final day of our advent activities. We finish by considering how different Christmas will be for many. Some may be struggling financially, others missing out on seeing loved ones, and lots of people having plans changed at short notice. It’s okay to be disappointed and upset.

However Christmas will be as good as you can make it! So do what you can and remain sensitive with conversations about Christmas afterwards - we’ll get through together! 💪🏻

You can work through these as a single circuit or for the true workout use a ladder to build up like the song 🎶 Starting with 1, then 1 + 2, then 1, 2 + 3 and so on up to 12 💪🏻

Today’s focus highlights the importance of stretching and when to use different types of stretches.

🕺🏼Dynamic stretches should be completed before activity to increase their elasticity, temperature and circulation supply ready to meet the demands of the following exercise. This also helps to prevent injury 🙌🏻

🧍🏻Static stretches are used after activity and can also be used in isolation to improve flexibility - the range of movement at a joint. Try several static stretches and hold them for 21 seconds. Remember to breathe steadily whilst holding these stretches.

🌟FEEL GOOD FRIDAY🌟
Have fun for the end of the week with a ‘trip to the zoo’! These animal themed body weight exercises will also make you laugh whilst having a go!

1️⃣8️⃣ Complete 18 seconds or go for 18 reps of these entertaining exercises

🐵 Gorilla Walks - Crouching on toes with arms straight, hands in a fist on the floor. Leaning trunk forward move opposite arm and leg forward.

🐸 Frog Jumps - Crouching down on toes, place hands on the floor ahead and jump both feet forward to return to crouching.

🐻 Bear Walks - Starting on your hands and knees, rest on your toes so that your knees hover above the floor. Walk forwards on all fours without your knees touching the floor. Remember to keep your back neutral like doing a plank.

🐰 Rabbit Hops - Crouching and balancing on toes, testing your core jump up and balance the landing. See how far you can hop!

🕷 Spider Crawl - Starting in a plank position, bring one knee out to the side and at the same time move the opposite arm forward lowering your chest like a press up. This is a low crawl, keep it short and quick!
