Spring Equinox blessings to you all! šŸ’–šŸŒ±

Moving forward, creeping out above the ground, our dreams begin to germinate, the earth has a stretch and a yawn - it’s Spring, it’s Spring,it’s Spring.

If you’re feeling this, you’re not alone.

So many people have shared with me just how very tired they’re feeling right now.
Transitional seasons can be difficult to navigate, throw in life’s usual stresses or strains and it soon takes its toll.
The Spring equinox is nearing but there’s no rush.

Movement is good but keep it easeful, spend time in the sunshine, dig in the dirt cultivate the space required for things to grow and thrive.

Mothers, carrying everything.
Our first teachers, protectors, our rivers, sun, moon and sky.
All of this in a world that so often minimises your worth, dictates and casts judgement on every move you make.
I see you.
You are doing the most important work, please remember that.

Happy Mother’s Day I promise to protect you ,support you and celebrate you every day.

ā€˜Happy’ lockdown anniversary!
We were just talking about this in our Monday class.
The time I had to (very quickly) learn how to livestream from the dining room.
Chairs piled up behind camera.
There seemed to be a gin collection appearing…

What a beautiful collective way to call in the Spring šŸ’–

The gentle stirring and felt sense of wanting but needing to move outward. Recognising the shifting elements as the soil warms and moisture rises. Creating conditions to adapt and change both physically and emotionally.
It was the day before International women’s day and while every day is women’s day around here, we shared the story of Artemis.
Eternal maiden and fierce protector of women, mothers and nature - the world needs a lot of that right now.

The spiralling stirring of the season inspired mandala reflections.
Most importantly being able to share the roots of sacred mandala practices. Rather than a pretty picture with complimenting colours but a long tradition of connection, personal meditation, continued devotion and the message of impermanence.
It’s amazing what you can learn about yourself when creating and sitting with mandala.

We all left with a little spring in our step šŸ˜‰

Keep an eye out for dates of our next mini retreat in Summer.

We stand on the shoulders of the incredible inspirational women that have paved the way and made the necessary noise.
I’m so fortunate to work alongside women every single day. I chose that for a reason.
I want all women to see their true power, beauty, radiance and strength. To speak up for women who don’t have as loud of a voice (yet) and shining a light on all of us so that together we can move for change.

If you’re tired I’ll offer you a place to rest,if you’re sad I’ll be there with arms wide open and if you’re fighting a battle I’ll be beside you all the way.

Happy International Women’s Day to you all aren’t women just absolutely awesome!šŸ’œ

Giddy with excitement at the sight of continuous blue sky today!
I almost didn’t want say it out loud but 15 degrees and sunny. Felt like Spring, looks like Spring these daffs were screaming SPRING

Is it Spring?.. Nope.
But we’ll take all the Serotonin and Vit D vibes this day had to offer.
You may feel called to shift your yoga practice gently towards an activation of energy, growth and vitality, shaking off the Winter slowly.
So whilst we’re not there yet, it doesn’t mean it’s not close enough to touch and see and smell - late Winter a game of grandmas footsteps.
Frolic when you can, prune out the old wood get ready it’s coming. 🌱

BUT that’s also exactly what a harbour is for.

I’m not a natural risk taker. I lean towards carefully calculated, controlled adventure - so the challenge to myself is always, do I need to step out of this comfort zone am I missing out on meaningful growth or experience?
But maybe you’re much more comfortable with risk and your challenge is to pause to weigh up whether it’s a safe place to be.
Both can be true.
Growth equals action but not always blind determination. Pausing to check we’re heading in the right direction is just as transformative and if not, being willing to change course even if it feels difficult and scary.
It’s all about what you need in the moment

šŸ‘‹ I’ve been a little quiet on here this week so just a quick wave to everyone, especially new followers. I’m around…

It’s half term for my children, evening classes have continued and admin has shifted to early morning catch up before they crawl out of bed. However as a self employed working mum the best way for me to make some space in my day in order to spend time with them is to park the social media posts 😊

It’s rather appropriate as our focus in class practice has been meeting resistance or pressure with ease. How can we change and shift to something that truly serves us.
That’s not an easy fix but a necessary practice towards longevity and peaceful living.

I’ll be back to full schedules next week and welcoming you all to our space.

Spaces are currently still available in Baby Massage and this month’s Restorative yoga.
See you all soon

Matters of the heart šŸ’–
You may not know that Cardiovascular disease is the largest killer of women globally. I know,I know, it’s love day but I allow me to interrupt our scheduled programming with an important message.

Emerging research suggests yoga practices can influence biomarkers of inflammation, the same ones linked to cardiovascular health.
Whilst it’s not entirely clear what aspect of yoga practise is more beneficial overall studies do conclude
improvement in stress resilience,
circulation,
reduction in reactive protein CRP is a warning sign for cardiovascular disease and metabolic dysfunction.

Of course there’s still a gender gap in prevention, awareness and timely intervention in heart attack.
Make sure you know the main symptoms of heart attack and you report concerns especially during pregnancy, after giving birth and in menopause. Check out bhf

protect your heart fiercely so that you can share the LOVE today and every day šŸ’–
