Today is . This year’s theme, “Invest In Your Spine”, emphasizes the importance of proactive spinal care through movement, physical literacy, and lifestyle choices in promoting lifelong health and well-being.

In England, 34% of adults live with chronic pain - many from back pain.

We must reduce long waits for specialist treatment and ensure MSK patients have access to multi-disciplinary MSK professionals delivering integrated, high-quality care to tackle chronic pain effectively.

✨Dry Needling for Low Back Pain Relief ✨

Dry needling uses a thin, sterile needle to release trigger points in overactive muscles. This can help:

✅ Reduce muscle tension
✅ Improve blood flow
✅ Calm irritated nerves
✅ Restore mobility

Research suggests dry needling may also help with nerve-related pain by reducing muscle pressure around irritated nerves and improving the way your nervous system processes pain 🔬.

💬 Talk to your chiropractor to see if dry needling could be a helpful part of your treatment plan.

Your back works hard for you - give it the care it deserves 🙌🦴

Our Story

Hannah Burke was raised in Dinas Powys and now works as a chiropractor in the Dinas Powys Medical Centre. She has been working there since it opened 4 years ago after previously working as a chiropractor in Pencoed and London. Hannah also works as a clinical supervisor at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC), supporting final year students in their clinical practice.

Chiropractic is a growing and regulated healthcare profession. It attempts to reduce pain and restore the normal function of the body structures. Chiropractors treat a range of conditions related to the spine, joints, nerves and muscles and regularly treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, sciatica, and headaches to name just a few.

At Dinas Powys Chiropractor, we carry out a detailed and confidential consultation to learn more about you and your complaint. We perform a thorough postural, orthopaedic and neurological examination to determine your diagnosis which will then be discussed with you. In more complex cases you may be required to be sent for further investigations such as blood tests, x-rays, MRI scan or an ultrasound scan.

Treatment methods include spinal manipulation, joint mobilisation, activator technique, flexion distraction, table drops, acupuncture, sports taping and massage. Exercises are often given to help prevent future flare ups.
