Last week, Jim Murray had the pleasure of delivering an informative talk to the wonderful team at Urray Care Home on the care of the deceased.

We are always grateful for the opportunity to share best practice and support the dedicated staff who care so compassionately for their residents and families.

We look forward to visiting more care homes over the coming weeks and continuing to work together to provide the highest standards of care. 🤝

✨Meet the Team – This Week ✨

This week at D. Gunn Funeral Directors, we’re delighted to introduce Fiona Campbell, who is one of our casuals and now also a Funeral Plan Consultant.

Fiona joined us as a casual team member in March 2025, but she’s certainly no stranger to D Gunn’s. Over the past couple of years, Fiona has generously given her time helping to organise and bring together our Child Bereavement Fun Days, working closely alongside Funeral Director Jim, Fiona organises all our events in the community.

Having come to Ross-shire 37 years ago, Fiona is a full-time mum, works part-time as a PSA in a primary school, and enjoys getting out for walks with her wee Jack Russell terrier, Nacho 🐾. A very busy lady indeed but one who couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work alongside the team at Gunn’s.

Fiona initially joined us as our Social Media Administrator, sharing insights into our funeral world and highlighting the services we provide and the people who deliver them. Fiona says:

“I love that I can share information about what we do and the team behind it. We’re here to support and guide people not only through funerals, but by being part of the community too. Whether it’s a charity event or a parade, you’ll often see some of the team out and about.”

Following recent family bereavements of her own, Fiona understands first-hand how vital it is to have a caring, compassionate team supporting you. She feels privileged to now also offer guidance as a Funeral Plan Consultant, helping families plan ahead with reassurance and peace of mind.

This week at D Gunn Funeral Directors, we’re delighted to introduce Jim Murray, Funeral Director, Embalmer and Funeral Plan Consultant.

Jim joined our team in 2014, bringing with him over 20 years of dedicated service to his community in Dumbarton. During that time, Jim learned his profession from highly experienced, time-served funeral directors, developing the skill, care and professionalism he’s known for today.

When Jim decided to transfer to Dingwall and join D Gunn Funeral Directors, we had no hesitation. His values aligned perfectly with our commitment to service excellence, compassion and the highest standards of care for bereaved families across Ross-Shire.

Jim has never settled for “that will do.” He continually pushes himself to be the very best, successfully completing his Diploma in Funeral Directing and further qualifying as a fully trained Embalmer—a role he takes great pride in. With over 30 years’ experience, Jim ensures every detail is attended to, with all options carefully offered and discussed.
