Today we celebrate Jacky Hirst who is signing off her Hydro-X career after 20 years of highs, lows and everything in between!

Jacky is an amazing woman who has seen it all. She has been an inspiration to the business helping it grow from a very small business to the multi-million pound business you see today!

From being our first female forklift driver to handling the Business Support Coordinator role and more, she can turn her hand to just about anything.

On Monday, Chloe Williams and Tracy Lees from our Sheffield office completed the last of their 1,400 squats throughout the month of February and they’re now taking a well-earned break!

After initially setting their fundraising target at £100, their final total raised came to a brilliant £284 and will all go to Great Ormond Street Hospital

Reports to: Regional Operations Supervisor.

Location: Field Based, will be expected to travel within the region.

Working hours: 5 x 8 hour shifts per week, some weeks will be working days, some will be working nights.

As an Environmental Engineer you will work under the direct supervision of the Regional Operations Supervisor and Lead Air Hygiene Engineer.

Main Duties

Full training and personal development plan will be provided for the successful applicant.

The duties will include, but are not be limited to, working within the guidance provided by TR19 and associated company documents, and guidance, to ensure that any plant worked on is safe and free from the risks.

You may be expected to undertake some or all of the work below:

Carry out kitchen extract system cleaning in accordance with TR19 Grease.

Carry out ventilation systems cleaning in accordance with TR19.

Carry out inspection of the Fire dampers in accordance with BS9999
Installation of access doors into ventilation system in accordance with DW144.

Conduct regular inspections of the physical plant as instructed.

Follow a preventative maintenance program as instructed.

Make recommendations for major repairs to the physical plant.

Maintain personal equipment & chemical stocks inventories.

You will also be expected to undertake any other duties associated to the output of the Regional Team as required.

The hours of work are Monday to Friday with a requirement to work overtime that will include some weekend work.

Full training will be provided for the successful applicant.

Location: You will be working in the Reading area, supporting one of our key clients the Royal Berkshire Hospital

Working hours and Pay: Typically, Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm, door to door payment, with much greater potential for generously paid overtime and discretionary bonus scheme.

As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will be involved in the servicing and maintenance of all types of systems and water treatment equipment.

This may include responsibilities such as:

Temperature checks and monitoring
Water Sampling
TMV Servicing
Shower cleans
Tank inspections and cleans
Chlorination work
Following a preventative maintenance program as instructed.
Providing same-day service reports as required.
Ensuring records are maintained.
Ideally you will have experience of ACoP L8 (Legionnaires) and water safety standards, however full training will be provided. You will work within the guidance provided by HSG 274, water system monitoring and sampling including associated company documents and guidance.
