We held a flower making arts and crafts session at Bowerfield House. Using colourful tape, felt tip pens, tissue paper and pipe cleaners we crafted flowers 🌸💐.

Arts and crafts are a great way to get creative and home in on our fine motor skills 👩‍🎨. These group activities are valuable as they mean we can stay sociable and active to start the day!

We had a great time doing biscuit decorating with a range of different colourful sprinkles and runny icing sugar 🎊! Everyone involved chose their favourite sprinkles and decorated their biscuits, choosing between a classic digestive base or a crunchy ginger snap 👨‍🍳.

The favourite option for topping was, of course, chocolate sprinkles.

Those living with us enjoyed a music hour where we played house favourites and all had a dance and a shake of various instruments including tambourines and maracas 🎶 These pictures show how much fun Pat and Barry were having, but almost everyone in the house got involved and had a great time - both upstairs and downstairs 💽.

Everyone wanted to added their all-time favourite song to the queue and sang and danced along🕺. This activity will be sure to return frequently as it brought much joy and laughter to our home.

We have started our very first session of our weekly Gardening Club 🌿🌸.

We popped on our colourful gardening gloves and made sure our clothes were covered from the soil. We decanted some of the old soil from our hanging outside plant pots and relaced it with brand new soil. We scattered and mixed in some wildflower seeds just in time for the beginning of spring.

We had a lovely time talking about what flowers we liked in our gardens and which flower on the packet we were most excited to see grow in our garden here at Bowerfield House, with the yellow and orange flowers coming out the most popular 🌻.

Our hope for gardening club is to bring some colour and life to our lovely garden space and see it thrive throughout the sunnier months!

Bowerfield House was filled with smiles and the sweet smell of freshly made pancakes as we came together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful selection of toppings, from indulgent Nutella and colourful mixed fruits topped with whipped cream, to rich maple syrup. There was something for everyone to enjoy!

But in true traditional style, the clear winner of the day was the classic combination of sugar and lemon simple, timeless, and absolutely delicious. 🍋

Celebrating occasions like Shrove Tuesday is so important to us at Bowerfield House. These special days bring everyone together, spark fond memories, encourage conversation, and create joyful moments that our residents truly treasure.

Here’s to good company, sweet treats, and making every moment count!

Bowerfield House was filled with colour, flavour and joy as we came together to celebrate Chinese New Year welcoming the Year of the Horse with warmth and community spirit.

The kitchen was alive with delicious aromas as Chef Steve prepared a mouth-watering lunch of chicken chow mein, perfectly accompanied by crispy prawn toast and traditional prawn crackers. Every bite was a celebration of culture, flavour and togetherness.

Our home looked absolutely stunning thanks to Regional Lifestyle Manager Simi, who transformed Bowerfield House with beautiful Chinese New Year decorations, bringing vibrant reds, festive charm and a wonderful sense of occasion to the day.

Celebrations like these are so important to us. They give our residents the opportunity to experience different cultures, share new tastes, reminisce about past celebrations, and most importantly, create special memories together.

Special thank you to all the wider team for bringing this day together to celebrate this culture day.

Here’s to good fortune, happiness and prosperity in the Year of the Horse!

Bowerfield House Celebrates National Cheese Lovers Day in Style!

The conservatory at Bowerfield House was the perfect venue for a delightful cheese and wine tasting event to mark National Cheese Lovers Day! Those living with us gathered to indulge in a beautifully presented selection of artisan cheeses, cured meats, crackers, and fresh fruits.

Our Lifestyle Assistant, Kachi, ensured the afternoon was a wonderful success, helping to coordinate the delicious spread and making sure everyone had a lovely time exploring different flavours and pairings. The event created a great opportunity for social interaction and a lot of happy conversation.

It was a brilliant way to celebrate a national day and enjoy the finer things in life with friends and family in our comfortable home environment. We believe in making every day special for everyone!

Recently, Arts and crafts sessions were held in both lounges at Bowerfield House, creating a calm, creative, and welcoming atmosphere for those living with us to enjoy.

Those living with us participated actively in the session, taking time to express themselves through colouring and creative artwork. With pencils and paper laid out, everyone was encouraged to work at their own pace, focusing on fine motor skills, concentration, and creativity in a relaxed setting.

The session also offered a lovely opportunity for comfort and connection, with familiar items providing reassurance while those living with us engaged in their artwork. It was heartwarming to see the focus, pride, and enjoyment on everyone’s faces as they worked on their pieces.

Arts and crafts play an important role in supporting wellbeing, providing a sense of purpose, relaxation, and accomplishment. It was a truly enjoyable session, and we are proud of how engaged and enthusiastic those living with us were throughout the activity.

More...Movement Day in Our Lounge!

Those living with us at Bowerfield House enjoyed a fun and engaging More...Movement Day in the lounge, filled with laughter, gentle exercise, and great teamwork.

Using a brightly coloured balloon, those living with us took part in a balloon volleyball exercise, encouraging arm movement, coordination, and light stretching in a relaxed and enjoyable way. The activity was carefully adapted so everyone could join in at their own pace, whether seated or actively reaching out to hit the balloon back and forth.

The lounge was full of smiles as those living with us focused on keeping the balloon in the air, cheering each other on, and enjoying the shared moment. Activities like this are a wonderful way to support physical wellbeing while also promoting social interaction and fun.

We had a wonderful and lively karaoke session in the downstairs lounge at Bowerfield House, filled with music, smiles, and plenty of sing-along moments for those living with us.

The afternoon was led by our Lifestyle Assistant, Kachi, who made sure everyone could join in by handing out a Bluetooth microphone speaker, giving those living with us the chance to sing, hold the mic, or simply enjoy the atmosphere in their own way.

A special highlight of the session was Shirley and Pat, who treated us to a fantastic selection of Elvis Presley classics. From the opening lines to the final notes, they sang most of Elvis’s songs with confidence and joy, bringing back lovely memories and creating a warm, nostalgic feeling throughout the room.

Those living with us enjoyed listening, singing along, tapping their feet, and sharing laughter together. Moments like these truly show how music brings people together, lifts spirits, and creates meaningful connections.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the afternoon so special. We’re already looking forward to the next karaoke session!

We were delighted to celebrate our raffle winner, Jenny, who won £100 from the home to enjoy a special meal out with her family.

Jenny’s much-anticipated outing was held at the Red Lion, and it was truly a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and togetherness. Jenny looked wonderful, dressed in her lovely black dress and elegant pearl necklace, with support from our Lifestyle Assistant Kachi, who helped her get ready for this special occasion.

Jenny headed to the Red Lion accompanied by Kachi, where her husband and daughter met us. The family enjoyed quality time together, sharing conversations, smiles, and refreshing cold drinks in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

Jenny was fully supported throughout the outing, including with her drinks and the soup she ordered, ensuring she was comfortable and able to enjoy every moment of her meal.

It was a truly heart-warming experience, and we are so pleased to have been part of creating such a meaningful memory for Jenny and her family.

Moments like these remind us just how important family connections and special experiences are.
