Last week at our Mobile Library Club, those living with us spent the afternoon reading the 2025 edition of the Guinness World Record Book.

This book offers a fascinating collection of outrageous facts and astonishing extremes, from the fastest, tallest, and longest to the biggest and smallest of almost anything, which fires the imagination and provides pure, pleasurable reading.

Dale and Andy have attended the 2025 Roughley's Bike Show held every year in Stockport to support charities. This amazing show included custom classic bikes, competition cars, live bands, food stalls, and merchandise stores.

The day started with a walking tour to see some of the most famous bike brands such as Harley Davidson, Ducati, Kawasaki, Triumph, and Honda followed by an ice cream nearby the main stage. Dale's family members Heather, Sophie, and Luke also accompanied us as they bring him every year which has now become a tradition. Dale had a collection of bikes in his younger years, was also a rider, and took part in many competitions!

Meet Diane's new friend "Eric", a pet-stuffed dog which is being added to Di's big collection and will help create a feel of comfort and purpose, promoting interaction, and reducing moments of distress.

Diane who is an animal lover, has expressed that her favourite one is of course, dogs, as she had a couple throughout the years she lived at home!

This month as part of our "Celebrating Cultures" programme, we hosted a Flower Festival from Medellin Colombia also known as Feria de las Flores, an annual event held every August. A vibrant cultural event that showcases the city's flower industry, particularly the silleteros (Flower Farmers) who create elaborate flower displays carried on their backs.

To mark this special occasion those living with us created some beautiful paper flowers in bright, picturesque colours to decorate our lounge, watched a video of the parade, listened to Colombian music, and Genesi & Marie went round doing face painting

Diane has had a lovely afternoon visiting her parents grave at Christ Church in Woodford accompanied by family members, Genesi, and Tony. Di, shared some lovely memories she had of her younger years and the many times her Dad John visited her at Bowerfield Court.

Today at Bowerfield Court, we have celebrated World Photography Day, an opportunity to appreciate the art of capturing moments.

For this special occasion, our lifestyle team got an instax camera, funny hats, and took random pictures throughout the day, bringing a sense of joy, happiness, and laughter. We then watched a documentary exploring the history behind photography, its roots, and importance in the modern world.

This week we have celebrated the 107th birthday of Mary, one of the lovely ladies living with us, who last year conquered everyone's heart with her sense of humour, her love for Man City, and her most remarkable advice "I have lived this long because I don't smoke, drink, or chase men".

After receiving more than 500 birthday cards from all around the world, including China, United States, and even Australia, and a happy birthday video from the one and only Jack Grealish, Mary was interviewed by radio stations, local media, and even Granada reports - making her feel like a true celebrity.

Due to this huge achievement, the whole team at Bowerfield Court won £1,000 as part of the "aspiring for excellence" programme rolled out last summer. This money was used to create a Sensory Garden named after Mary, as she expressed her love of nature, plants, and spending quality time with family members in her outdoor space at home.

To celebrate her birthday this time, family members visited the home to open our new garden, and have a little party with us all. Mary received her 7th royal birthday card, a city key ring, and grass seeds to be spread in the garden from the Etihad Man City pitch! Happy birthday Mary!

Lifestyle Assistant Tony has been spending some quality 1/1 time with those living with us cared for in bed. This weekend we enjoyed live music from Barbara's favourite Opera, and Persian folklore music supporting Nazar's cultural background. Everyone had a great time!
