At this week's arts & crafts club some of the ladies living with us visited the lounge for a session of painting and reminiscing. All gathered and spent time together designing a range of tribals in many colours to be displayed in the communal areas. We would like to thank Jackie who came to visit Bev and joined the club!

Welcoming 2026.....

Lifestyle Assistant Tony hosted a New Year's Eve party for those living with us as we welcomed the new 2026 year. The day started with a live concert in our main saloon, followed by a traditional dinner and ending with a fireworks display in our cinema room.

Those who are cared for in bed also had the opportunity to join the celebrations by watching a live fireworks display which also worked as a More...Sensory experience.

We hope you all have a Happy New Year, and we cannot wait to show you all the amazing things we have planned in this year ahead!

Christmas Day at Bowerfield Court was celebrated in a very special way. The people living with us started the morning with their favourite choice of breakfast, followed by an exciting moment of opening presents and cards with the support of Genesi, followed by a live Christmas concert and of course Christmas Dinner hosted by our head chef Sarah and the hospitality team.

The Menu consisted of homemade soup, pate accompanied with a slice of toast and fresh salad, turkey dinner with all the trimmings, for the vegetarians we served a chestnut wellington with cranberry sauce, orange jaffa cake bombs, and mince pies. We would like to thank all family members who kindly donated biscuits and chocolates to our staff.

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

We are delighted to share that we have won MMCG's Christmas lifestyle/ hospitality 2025 competition under the "hug on a plate" category, which involved an in-house baking festival that celebrated global traditions as members of our team with the support of those living with us baked not 1 but 4 Christmas desserts from around the world.

The prize is an incredible £1,000 to spend in our lifestyle programme. Well done everyone!

As this year's competition it's about creating moments that matter through person centred experiences, the team at Bowerfield Court hosted "A world of winter treats" a baking festival which involved creativity, connections, inclusivity, cultural diversity, and hug on a plate with a mind, body, and soul focus without forgetting to have fun, what Christmas is all about. In this way to ensure that not only all members of our team got involved but the people living with us and families, we chose to make not 1 but 4 Christmas desserts inspired by global traditions and continents of the world.

The first team to take part was the office team formed by maintenance, lifestyle, admin, and management representing Asia with a Japanese strawberry sponge cake, the second team was domestics representing America with a Mexican 3 milks cake, the third team was the nurses with the support of carers representing Africa with a Nigerian Christmas fruit cake, and at last our hospitality team representing Europe with a French Yule log which was served on Christmas Day.

In order to give it a worldwide look we had an all around the world backdrop, each stand was decorated with traditional flags and items to represent each country and at each trial we had a special guest from our executive chef to our lifestyle regional manager, family members, and home manager Helen who looked forward to trying each cake.

Those living with us joined the celebrations and were the judges of this fun delicious bake-off, trying different flavours and combinations, as well as learning the story behind each dessert and its provenance. After each tasting session all voted from 1-5 for their favourite cake with the winning one being the office team with all 5s although at Court everyone is a winner as like Brian expressed "It's all about spending time together and enjoying the holidays eating lots of cake".

Thank you to EVERYONE who took part in making Christmas a little more special,

We hope you enjoy looking at our beautiful event as much as we did hosting it!

Happy New Year to all....

At Bowerfield Court we are delighted to share that for the first time we have experienced "The Miley Minibus" provided to us by MMCG to ensure that those living with us get the opportunity of visiting the community. As it's Christmas Season we had to visit Stockport Plaza for an annual dose of laughter and enjoyment at the Christmas pantomime.

This year we watched Aladdin starring BRIAN CAPRON star of Coronation Street and many TV and stage presentations who made a welcome return as the really evil ABANAZAR, KARIM ZEROUAL who is best known for anchoring CBBC as a Presenter for 8 years and reaching the final of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 who appeared as ALADDIN plus Full Supporting Cast including the much loved SCOTT GALLAGHER who returned as WISHEE WASHEE.

Jean and Brian had a fantastic time greeting the children, singing along, and enjoying the colourful backdrops in an experience which brought a sense of reminiscing. Brian expressed "It has brought some special memories back." thank you to our team leader Mark who was not only a fantastic driver but a kind, thoughtful supporter who took the time to engage with our people. We cannot for our next trip out in the new year!

This week as part of our More Fresh Air programme, Dale visited Lyme Park accompanied by Genesi and Tony. They all enjoyed a Christmas Stroll around the beautiful gardens, including a visit to the old cellar where now there's a coffee shop and library as well as a chapel in which we were lucky to experience the Christmas service.

Dale was delighted watching all the children, the lovely scenerys and of course a nice hot chocolate for the cold weather. We would like to thank Taxi Driver Lisa for not only ensuring that Dale was safe throughout the journey but stayed with us as support.

At Bowerfield Court we celebrated "A Christmas with MMCG" a party hosted every year to celebrate those living with us and their families. The day started with Genesi and Tony supporting our people picking a raffle ticket for the chance to win a day out or a special treat, 500 tickets were split and shared between all.

Head Chef Sarah and the hospitality team put together a fantastic buffet with more than 20 options from starters such as sausage rolls, pork pies, spring rolls, butties, and mozzarella sticks to mains such as chicken, rice, pasta, pizza, and a variety of pies, and of course delicious desserts including orange Jaffa bombs, doughnuts, cakes, and ice cream.

The celebration ended with a live singing concert performed by Tim, who is Kevin's brother-in-law, a gentleman who lives with us at Court. Tim sang a variety of Christmas songs, bringing joy and happiness in the room. We also, played the video sent to us by our CEO and the rest of the executive team where the winner of the raffle was announced. 171 was the lucky number, making Andy Davies our winner!

As part of our fulfilling lives programme, we are delighted to share with you this special Christmas story. Diane who has lived with us for some years at Bowerfield Court has had a deterioration in her mobility and this makes her now unable to join the dining room for meals due to constant pain and risk of falls.

Di, lost her mum when she was very young and grew up having a strong bond with her Father who sadly passed away a couple of years ago, sister Amanda who is a nurse is the only close family member she has but due to family and work circumstances wasn't able to join Di on Christmas Day as she also lives in Oxford. Amanda absolutely adores Di and would do anything to make her happy, therefore our team came together and created a memorable experience for both.

Lifestyle/hospitality team hosted a "Christmas Special Dinner", the coffee room was decorated with garlands, ornaments, and Christmas tree, there was music, Christmas crackers and of course a traditional Christmas dinner made by our head chef Sarah. For dinner they had the option of soup, pate, turkey, root vegetable wellington specially for Di who is vegetarian, Jaffa cake bombs for dessert and a selection of drinks including wine and lattes.

This special celebration had a positive impact in Di's social well-being as not only she made the effort to have a meal outside her bedroom but encouraged her to visit our communal
spaces. Although Amanda travels a great distance to see Di, she is more than happy to do so as she appreciates the wonderful care she receives.
