I'm Cathryn, your local Chiropractor in Disley, Cheshire East. I specialise in McTimoney Chiropractic techniques, which are gentle, quick, light, specific and very effective adjustments to the spine and joints (McTimoney is less big cracks to the spine, and more flicks and clicks when adjusting). The focus of McTimoney Chiropractic is to encourage whole-body alignment using a top-to-toe, holistic

approach. This ultimately aims to promote health and well-being by taking the body from a state of dis-ease (which can lead to disease) to a state of comfort and ease. Leading up to training as a chiropractor, I qualified and worked as a Massage Therapist, using techniques such as:
- sports massage
- deep tissue massage
- myofascial release
- hot stones
- pre- and post-event massage
- trigger point release
- adapted cancer and hospice care massage
- stretching techniques
- K-taping
- lymphatic drainage
- dry cupping
- pregnancy massage
- reiki. I am a keen hill walker, canoeist and mountain biker, while also being dedicated to strength training, mobility and yoga. I am also hugely in love with my greyhound, Chase, who you'll no doubt meet when you visit Motion Chiropractic.

I've had a very informative afternoon at the Summer Conference 2025.

The theme this year was Quality Standards in our profession. At Motion Chiropractic, I work hard to achieve the highest standards, but there's always room for improvement, and I've got some fantastic inspiration for changes in my practice going forward.

Principal Honoured! Our Principal, Professor Christina Cunliffe, has been awarded an OBE in the Kings Birthday Honours list announced today in the London Gazette.

This award is in recognition of her outstanding services to healthcare education, with a 25 year focus on developing chiropractic education in the UK and abroad. She has led the McTimoney College of Chiropractic since 1998, transforming it from a single site institution into a global entity with campuses in Oxfordshire, Manchester, Madrid, Hong Kong and soon to be Northern Ireland. Under her leadership, the McTimoney College has become a beacon for quality education through innovative programmes that train chiropractors for both people and animals, emphasising access to education for working adults.

As well as her Fellowships of both the Royal College of Chiropractors and the Royal Society of Biology, she holds a PhD from the University of Manchester together with being awarded a personal Chair in Chiropractic by the University of Wales in 2010. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Healthcare Leadership by BPP University in 2021. She served on the General Chiropractic Council, its Education Committee and Investigating Committee, and as Treasurer of the Royal College of Chiropractors, and has been involved in the development of the profession for many years.

Professor Cunliffe's OBE is a testament to her unwavering dedication to advancing healthcare education and has significant impact on the chiropractic profession.

I've had a superb weekend learning how to assess and treat common vestibular disorders with the . It was fantastic to learn how to help patients with conditions such as BPPV, PPPD, and vestibular migraines. I know how debilitating these conditions can be, so I'm so pleased to now have the skills to be able to support patients who have them.

It was then so nice to round off the weekend by going from the vestibular to the cochlear by enjoying the most beautiful soundbath with Purely Katie 💫✨️
