💚 Good for Good 💚

It all started when Lucy and Anne called on Sophie from the Norfolk Community Foundation, to deliver a box of Christmas chocolates, and together they ended up thinking of ways that Rosedale could work with Norfolk Community Foundation to share our skills.

They say the rest is history, but this is just the beginning, Rosedale is proud to have joined Good for Good, and are going to be delivering some training to charities across Norfolk in Loss and Grief.

"We wanted to join Good for Good because supporting and giving back to our local community is one of our key values. We believe collaboration is key to creating meaningful and lasting impact.

Sharing our professional expertise with Norfolk Communities Partnership Good for Good through the delivery of Loss & Grief Training enables us to strengthen the skills of local charities and community organisations who are working with bereaved individuals across Norfolk. " Anne and Lucy

❄❄❄ It’s been a chilly few weeks, so our Recipe of the Month is Cally’s Warming Dijon Chicken Barley. ❄❄❄

Taken from our Cooking for One book, this comforting recipe is part of a unique collection of dishes and stories written by the bereaved, offering wisdom, insight, love and hope. 💚

“I struggled with the contradiction of eating well in the aftermath of bereavement – I associate food with joy and love, so eating well and enjoying food seemed almost disloyal and somehow wrong. But we are so shattered by grief, our bodies coping with the trauma of it all, that to feed ourselves well at this time is so very important.” - Cally

Every funeral can reflect the unique life and personality of the person being remembered.

Rosedale always encourage families to think about the little personal touches that can make a service truly meaningful. 💚

Whether it’s favourite music 🎶, a special reading🧾, a themed colour🧡💛💙💜🤎💗🤍, or even our bearers wearing Christmas ties👔🎅 in February, these details can bring comfort, spark memories and celebrate individuality.

There are no strict rules when it comes to honouring someone you love, sometimes it’s the smallest gestures that mean the most.

If you’re planning a funeral, we’re here to help you create something that feels just right.

We were delighted to see recent conversations within the Church about encouraging more environmentally friendly flower arrangements, including reducing single-use plastics such as floral foam and celebrating local, seasonal blooms that can be composted or reused.

At Rosedale, we’ve long championed greener choices in funerals, from eco-friendly coffins to florals designed with sustainability in mind.

Thank you to the churches and communities leading the way in thoughtful commemoration. Together, we can honour life with beauty and respect for our planet.

What a fantastic evening it was at the Harleston Town Ball at the Waveney House Hotel where glamour, generosity and great company came together in style.

Several members of the Rosedale Funeral Home team were delighted to attend, including Kerry Whitlock and Fiona Tate.

Guests were treated to fabulous food and a lively band that kept the dance floor full.

As well as being a wonderful social occasion, our host Chris from Pepperell's Meats in a generous gesture, decided to play an impromptu game of Heads and Tails game, raising £307 for our charity of the year and supporting people leaving with Multiple Sclerosis.

Our community Ambassador Lucy Coote a member of Waveney SHIMS is pictured (centre) handing over the funds. They are a valued local charity supporting people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

A huge well done to everyone involved in organising such a memorable night, and heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to raising funds for such an important cause. Nights like these remind us just how powerful community spirit can be.
