Meet the spacecraft technology in our flooring!

As part of our refurbishment work for our brand new packing room, we knew we needed some underfloor heating to keep the room temperature stable. As our offices are all developed from converted, old farmyard barns, proper insulation and temperature control is important in keeping all of our products in tip-top condition.

Andy spent a lot of time researching the most efficient and environmentally-responsible forms of underfloor heating, which led us to this innovative technology made from graphene. It uses carbon technology to gently conduct heat evenly throughout the floor, without wasting excess energy. It’s also incredibly thin; less than a millimetre thick! To our excitement, it turns out we are the first commercial premises in the UK to install this kind of underfloor heating.

We also understand it was originally developed for use in spacecraft! Well, our offices may not be anywhere near as exciting as space technology, but it’s safe to say our packing team are loving the cosy warmth that emits from the floor on these cold winter mornings.
