Good afternoon
A PhD researcher from London is looking for men aged 55-79 from Northern Ireland to take part in a new study about acid reflux. Specifically, she is looking for people who have acid reflux and are taking medicine (either prescription e.g. omeprazole, or over the counter e.g. Rennies/Gaviscon) to take part in a telephone interview. The interviews will last 30-45 minutes, and you will speak about your experiences of acid reflux, and a new health check for people with reflux.
You will get a £25 voucher for taking part.

Prevent Burst and Frozen Pipes with These Simple Tips! ❄️🚰

With the icy cold weather upon us, it's essential to protect your pipes from freezing and bursting. Here's some helpful advice from NI Direct to keep your home safe this winter:

1. Know Your Stop Tap – Make sure you know where your internal stop/tap valve is (usually under the kitchen sink) and how to turn it off in case of an emergency.

2. Keep the Heat On – Even if you're out, try to keep your home warm to prevent pipes from freezing.

3. Lag Exposed Pipes – Insulate pipes in draughty areas to protect them from the cold.

4. Open Roof Space Trap Door – During extreme weather, leave the trap door to your roof space open to allow warm air to circulate and keep un-lagged pipes and water tanks safe.

5. Check Taps – Ensure all taps are fully turned off to avoid any leaks or drips.

6. Have a Plumber's Contact – Always have the contact details of a plumber handy, just in case.

7. Never use electric, gas, or paraffin heaters in the roof space, and take the time to familiarize yourself with your water supply system.

We have already blasted a spin class out this morning 🥵 and Aware have just arrived for the start of their 6 week mindfulness course 🫶🙏

We hope you all had an amazing Christmas and we wish you all a very Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming you all back in 2025.
