FAQs
(Including 'I've never danced sober - help!')

*What is the Wellbeing Club?
A gathering of women to support and encourage each other on a journey of growth and transformation to embody the most vibrant version of yourself. We will reconnect with our authentic self, and others, through movement, song, contemplation, connection and a cuppa.

*I have never done anything like this before. Will I feel out of place?
This is a gathering of women of all ages, all body types, all walks of life. Each bringing their own gifts and challenges. Each seeking authentic connection and a life of vitality and growth. This is a non-judgemental, warm, welcoming space. You will be so welcome here - warts and worries included - we all have them. πŸ˜‚

*Is this religious?
No. But that does not mean you need leave your religion/spirituality at the door, or that it is not welcome. Our ancestors evolved reflecting, sharing, dancing, singing - all good for the soul stuff. We want to reconnect with this age-old medicine.

*Do I have to be flexible, confident or be a good dancer?
Absolutely not. You just have to be willing to move. I know this can sound scary but there is magic and medicine in movement. And it is innate to all of us. We were born to move - our ancestors all moved together and science shows it has great health benefits - for body, mind and soul. You do not need to have practiced yoga or danced before or consider yourself β€˜fit.’ There is no mat work involved.

*I have never danced sober, the idea of this terrifies me. Help!
The playlist is hoppin’, the orchard is expansive and the company is great. You will find it hard to stop yourself from movin’! Science tells us that dancing is one of the best ways to improve our mental and physical wellbeing and shift our emotional state. What a shame it tends to be served up with copious amounts of alcohol. There is no judgement here, just liberation and great craic - without the hangover!

*Do I need to consider myself a good singer?
Absolutely not. We will sing together in group and be amazed how good we sound - together.

*Will I be forced to share?
Absolutely not. There may be group discussions and if you'd like to contribute, you can. All voices will be respected and valued. However, this is a time for self-reflection and exploration. You will not be asked to share anything you don't want to.

*What do I wear?
We will meet in both the beautiful Hoop House and Orchard. Think comfortable clothes and layers. The Orchard may be damp underfoot so waterproof shoes/boots or barefoot advised, however there is a covered area to the orchard if you'd prefer. Just think comfort.

*What else do I need to bring?
-A favourite journal, if you have one. If not, we’ll provide.
-We have a selection of herbal teas and nutritious breakfast snacks. If you'd like to bring anything else along for yourself, or for the group, you're welcome to do that.
-An open-heart and curious mind.

*Where do I park?
Drive past the vending machine and park down the lane, by the pumpkin patch and wildflower field.

*Payment?
Drop-in Β£20. Each session will feel like a mini retreat and be wonderful value for money. However, do reach out for payment options if need be. Every woman welcome ###

*Who are we?
Cara - Yoga teacher, kinesiologist, primary teacher, nervous system nerd, women's group facilitator, mum of 3.
Susie - midwife, lifestyle medicine student, reflexologist, musician, mum of 3.

Brene Brown who told a story about a village where all the women washed clothes together down by the river. When they all got washing machines, there was a sudden outbreak of depression and no one could figure out why.

It wasn't the washing machines in and of themselves. It was the absence of time spent doing things together. It was the absence of community.

Friends, we’ve gotten so independent. We’re β€œfine” we tell ourselves even when in reality we’re stressed out, depressed, overwhelmed, lonely, and we’re hurting. β€œWe’re fine. We’re just too busy to deal with that right now,” we say as days, weeks, months, and years go by without connecting with ourselves, our greater purpose and with others.

We’ve become so isolated and it’s hard to know how to get back. It’s so hard to know how to even begin to build the kind of relationships our hearts need. And I think in our current culture, it’s just not as organic as it once was. Because you know, we have our own washing machines. We don't depend on each other to do laundry, or cook dinner, or raise babies anymore. We don't really depend on each other for much of anything if we're being honest. We are more than ever expected to do it all.

In Brene Brown’s book Braving the Wilderness, she says that being lonely affects the length of our life expectancy similar to smoking 15 ci******es a day. I don’t say that to freak anyone out, but to let you know that the longing for connection is LEGIT. I think we’ve treated authentic connection like a luxury for far too long; yet it isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

Be independent. Be proud of it. But be an independent woman who realises the value and the importance of opening the door to other good women.

You can do it alone, but you don't have to. And how much more enriching to share this journey together.

There is true magic when women come together to share their experiences, their gifts, their challenges - and a nutritious breakfast! You share your hard earned wisdom and I'll share mine. And then we'll invite that girl over there who brings a completely different experience of life to the table, and we'll watch together as something miraculous unfolds. ✨

Come join us this Friday morning for genuine connection. To move, sing, feast, have good craic and reflect - together - like we were designed to do. THIS IS WHAT TRUE MEDICINE LOOKS LIKE!
Come help us build the community we're all craving and create the beautiful world we all know in our hearts to be possible. πŸ’–

No experience at anything necessary. No level of confidence, musicality or fitness either. Just an open-heart and an open-mind. We’d love to welcome you for a morning of nurture and nourishment at Donaghadee's magical Flavour First Farm. πŸ’šπŸ‚πŸπŸŒΈπŸ„πŸπŸŒ»πŸ’ƒπŸ»βœ¨

At this time of year, we are on cusp of change. Life takes on a different rhythm and we are invited to slow down and cultivate practices to help us let go of what doesn't serve us going forward and to embody practices that will sustain and enrich us through the winter months.

Change isn't easy. It can be unsettling. But Susie and I have created the Wellbeing Club as a place where women can show up, (warts, worries and no experience necessary at all), to reconnect with true medicine practices for wellbeing, transformation and growth.

What you can expect?
-A liberating outdoor movement practice to include yoga and dance - suits all bodies and designed to shift what is 'stuck'.πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸ™πŸ» (No mat work. There is shelter if it rains.)
-Time out to engage in guided reflection to reconnect with clarity and purpose. ✍🏻
-A good-for-the-soul group sing-song.🎢
-Great company and authentic connection.πŸ’ž
-Nourishing homemade seasonal breakfast treats and herbal teas. β˜•
-An opportunity to bathe in the beauty of the magical Flavour First Farm in Donaghadee. βœ¨πŸ‚πŸ„πŸπŸŒ³πŸŒ»

All that for Β£20.
You will leave invigorated, enriched and empowered. You will be so welcome.

Any questions, feel free to reach out.
