Yesterday I went to watch my niece run in the Belfast City Marathon. The sheer determination and sometimes pain on the faces of the participants was humbling. Some were regular runners and others set the marathon as a goal to run for a charity that is close to their heart. Congratulations to Ella and everyone who took part, I hope you’re not too sore today. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏅

This announcement from Easyjet may be of some interest

EasyJet has announced its Fearless Flyer programme has returned this month to help aerophobes overcome their fear, with spaces still available on courses from May to July at nine airports across the UK.

Nine courses will run over the next three months, with experience flights taking place across the UK including Belfast, as well as London Stansted for the first time since 2020.

Since 2012, the programme has helped over 14,000 individuals, with a success rate of more than 95%.

With one in six people estimated to be a nervous flyer, the course offers reassurance and winning techniques by senior easyJet pilots and phobia experts to help combat concerns around flying to help even the most ardent aerophobe to overcome their fear of flying.

The course includes a virtual ground course, A pre-flight one-hour ‘Meet the Team’ online Zoom session, and a special one-hour experience flight from the course airport.

Mark Wein, easyJet’s Fearless flyer Course Director, said:

“As someone who used to have a fear of flying, I understand only too well how restrictive this fear can be, but it really isn’t that difficult to overcome it. Often, it’s just a lack of knowledge or coping techniques that are the root cause of the issue, which is why the easyJet Fearless Flyer course is so successful.

Be careful not to push yourself too hard. It’s ok not to be the same everyday. Some days our performance rate is better than others and that is ok.

Clients often tell me that they are too busy to take time for themselves to read, go for a walk or even sit down for 10 minutes. How you use your day is your choice and no one else’s. Of course work has to be done but do you have to spend every minute on everyone else? If you don’t care for yourself no one else will.
Have a think about how you spend your day? Are you doing tasks that could wait or could someone else in the family take them on? How you live is an example to your children too and if you treat them like hotel guests they will let you. Giving them tasks equips them for the future as well as sharing family responsibilities.

Maybe today you can take some time to reflect on who you are and how you spend your day. You might want to build in some time for a walk, look around and absorb the colours, smells and sounds outside. You might just be surprised at how good that feels.
Remember you are a human BEING and not a human DOING!
Be kind to yourself today. ☕️🚶‍♀️🚴🏊‍♀️🌺

I love taking photos of doors! They remind me of opportunities we have in life to push new doors and if they open we can find out what that means for us or take us in a new direction. If they don’t then that wasn’t for us and we need to look for another and keep going until we find the right one.
I took this photo at Bristol Cathedral yesterday, a side door, very different from the grandeur of the main entrance. Sometimes we just need to do things quietly, go in the side door and not have a grand entrance.
