If we’re lucky, we get 4,000 weeks.

So any job that leaves you

With a knot in your stomach before every meeting
Carrying tension headaches that follow you home
Constantly questioning whether you’re enough
So exhausted you don't enjoy family time
With 3am anxiety that steals your sleep
Wearing a mask to hide how you feel
Feeling guilty for switching off
Surviving your days

…is stealing precious time. That we don't get back.

Life's way too short for that.

Who else agrees?

If you struggle to switch off on a Friday, I get it. It’s easy to technically finish work but still have it ticking away in your mind all weekend.

Here’s what I do every Friday to properly log off and enjoy my weekend:

✅ Tie Up Loose Ends – Quick check-in on tasks, finish what I can, and park the rest for Monday. Perfect to ensure there’s no mental to-do list following me around!

✅ Clear My Space – A tidy desk = a tidy mind. Stepping into an organised space Monday morning always feels so much better than a disorganised one.

✅ Set Boundaries – I let people know I’m done for the week and resist the urge to ‘just check’ my inbox. (It’s never just one email, is it?)

✅ Create a Weekend Trigger – Shutting my laptop, putting it out of reach, going for a walk, or hitting the gym,—doing something that signals ‘work is done.’

✅ Plan Something to Look Forward To – A slow coffee, a catch-up with friends, or even a Saturday morning Netflix session. Having a weekend ritual makes switching off easier.

If you find it hard to step away from work, try adding just one of these to your Friday routine. You might be surprised how much lighter your weekend feels.

Have a great one!
