🧠 Fact Friday!
Did you know there are two main types of stroke — and each one requires very different medical treatment?

An ischemic stroke happens when a clot blocks blood flow to the brain, while a hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a blood vessel ruptures. Both require urgent medical attention — and early intervention can make a huge difference.

At CNS Physiotherapy, we’re here to support individuals through their rehabilitation journey with evidence-based neurological care.

🌟 Meet the Team: Scott – Neurological Physiotherapist 🌟

In the first instalment of our meet the team series we’re delighted to introduce Scott, one of our dedicated neurological physiotherapists and director here at CNS Physiotherapy!

Scott graduated from Sheffield Hallam University with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy and has gained a wealth of experience working across the NHS in acute stroke care, community rehab, and MSK outpatients.

Scott’s approach is all about functional, individualised rehabilitation. He’s passionate about empowering clients so that progress continues far beyond each session.

He also has a strong interest in inclusive sport, inspired by his involvement with the Yorkshire and England disability cricket players. Seeing the impact that sport can have on confidence, purpose, and quality of life continues to fuel his commitment to accessible rehabilitation for all.

He currently provides high-quality, home-based neurological physiotherapy across Doncaster, Scunthorpe, Gainsborough, and Bassetlaw.

When he’s not working, you’ll most likely find him staying active through football, cricket, golf, or resistance training.

Huntington’s disease…
Another condition we see here at CNS

Movement issues are one of the main symptoms experienced by people with Huntington’s.
Common symptoms include
•involuntary movements
•muscle rigidity
•balance issues
•coordination deficits

Working with specialist physiotherapists can help improve balance, strength and coordination. This can help our clients maintain independence for as long as possible 🙏🏼
