Loved meeting all of the new people starting my pain management program yesterday β™₯️

A lady from Mind accompanied one participant and told me an absolutely shocking statistic that our government should be ashamed of.

There are more food banks in England now than there are McDonald's 😑😑

All set up for the next group of people in pain starting the Survive to Thrive 12 week programme today.

I love this part of my work, on the ground mixing, helping and supporting those whose lives I have the privilege of helping to change for the better.

Self‑care is always the first module I cover in Survive to Thrive, as it provides the foundation for many of the topics we explore throughout the programme.

There are still places available for groups starting Wednesday 25th March 11am to 12.30pm And Monday 30th March 1pm to 2.30pm.

It's that whole "Hi are you alright, yes are you" conversation isn't it.

When someone asks if you're alright, they're not actually asking if you're alright, it's more a standard acceptable interaction / greeting when you first see someone.

We don't actually mean it though do we, we're actually pretending to be alright because that's what we have programmed ourselves to do.

Why?

Because it's easier.

Because we don't want people to think we're moaning AGAIN.

Because saying the truth outloud can reduce us to tears as we then we have to face the truth and that's painful, physically, mentally and emotionally.

So if you know someone who lives with a chronic illness, ask them how they are and then when they answer, say "no I want to know how you really are" because I guarantee they're not telling you the truth the first time you ask.

That is, of course, if you do actually want to know how they really are πŸ€”

So I've decided to open up my diary and offer my 'Survive to Thrive' pain management program to anyone who isn't eligible under the current GP contract that I have.

I want to reach anyone and everyone who needs it, without any eligibility criteria other than they live with chronic pain. So keep watching this space for the upcoming date where I will open up for 1or 2 group's of 8 and I will be offering it completely free of charge.
