Hi there… time for a little re-introduction (loooong overdue).

I’m Jane, an independent specialist speech and language therapist and mum to three home-educated girls… usually found juggling therapy sessions, never-ending education admin, continuous requests for food, and multiple cups of cold coffee….

Our family navigates education in several different ways, so I understand that learning doesn’t always fit neatly into boxes (or timetables).

When I’m not juggling all of the things or staring for too long at my to-do list or calendar (honestly, I’m fine!), you’ll probably find me trying to smuggle more plants past my children into the garden! Yes, I am that old now!

My award-winning online practice is neurodiverse-affirming and child-centred. I support children and young people with speech sound work for clearer, more confident communication. I also support neurodiverse communication, friendships, and transitions. Parent support sessions are also available.

Oh… I also make some speech therapy resources and deliver training.

RADICALLY REWRITING THE "EMOTIONALLY BASED SCHOOL AVOIDANCE" GUIDANCE WEBINAR

It is almost universally recognised that the current guidance for supporting young people who are struggling to attend school does not work for many.

But the North West has been at the forefront of collaborating at a multiagency level and Spectrum Gaming has been leading on creating some new guidance alongside key partners that we believe will much better meet the needs of all young people. This guidance will be launching in September and will be open access for everyone.

We are running this webinar so we can:
⭐ Share the rationale for the new guidance we are developing.
⭐ Offer a learning opportunity based on the most up to date research and coproductive work with young people, families and professionals.
⭐Hear your views on what we have created so far, before we setart to formally write then publish the guidance in September, to ensure it is the best it can be.
