Our beloved friend and colleague Dianne Landers sadly passed away whilst in service on Sunday 2nd February at St Johns Hospice.
Dianne’s journey with the Trust began over 42 years ago when she first joined Ward 27. From the very start, her compassion and dedication to her work was evident. Throughout the years, she worked across numerous outpatient services, including in breast care, where her kindness and caring nature made a lasting impact on many.
In 2006, Dianne joined us in the Diabetic Eye Screening department as a health care assistant. Her sharp eye for detail and deep understanding of the condition ensured that countless patients received the highest standard of care, and as such Dianne then trained to become the departments senior grader.
She was a fantastic teacher, always willing to share her expertise and support junior members of the team. Through her guidance and mentorship, over 20 members of staff were trained and supported to become qualified screeners and graders.
As we mourn this loss, we also come together as a team. Dianne was not only a dedicated member of the department but also a friend and mentor to many. Her warmth, kindness, and wicked sense of humour will be sorely missed. ❤️
