Wash hands thoroughly using soap and water after handling animals or touching surfaces and always before eating, drinking and after using the toilet.

Many patients who attend Urgent and Emergency care are discharged home with safety netting advice and no treatment. This is because they have minor but troublesome viruses, such as a cold or upper chest infection.

As we go into the long weekend please use our URGENT & EMERGENCY services wisely.

Unless acutely worse, needing an urgent review, long term conditions cannot be managed in our services, or the Emergency Department. These can only be effectively managed by your own GP or assigned hospital specialist.
