🚨 Big News in Contraception Care 🚨

On 13 May 2026,The College of Sexual Reproductive Healthcare (CoSRH) announced that the contraceptive implant licence has been extended from 3 years to 5 years 🎉

This means that the implant can now be used for pregnancy prevention for up to 5 years, giving people longer-lasting, highly effective contraception with fewer replacement appointments.

💡 The contraceptive implant:
✔ Over 99% effective
✔ Long-acting and reversible
✔ Works continuously without needing daily action
✔ Can now last up to 5 years

A self-taken screen is a quick, private way to test for chlamydia & gonorrhoea — no awkward appointments required ✨
You collect your own sample using a simple swab or urine test.

Emergency contraception (EC) is available via NHS s*xual health clinics, GPs, and many pharmacies.Options include the IUD (most effective) or morning-after pills,which should be taken within 3–5 days of unprotected s*x.
Types of Emergency Contraception in the UK
Copper Coil (IUD):Most effective,which can be fitted up to 5 days after s*x
Emergency Contraceptive Pills (Morning-After Pill):ellaOne (Ulipristal Acetate): Effective up to 120 hours (5 days) after s*x, though it is best taken immediately.
Levonelle (Levonorgestrel): Effective up to 72 hours (3 days) after s*x.
