I Have Autism. I Want You to Know This at Christmas.

Christmas can look joyful from the outside, but for many autistic children it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and exhausting.

I created this resource to help children and their families gently share what Christmas can be like for them — and what really helps. It’s designed to support understanding from relatives, friends, and the wider family, without a child having to explain themselves again and again. Other diagnoses to follow over the coming days.

This free download includes
– Colour versions (masculine and feminine)
– Printer-friendly versions
– A child-led version where they can draw themselves or add a photo

It’s about making space, reducing pressure, and helping every child feel safer, seen, and understood during the festive season.

Free download — follow instructions in the visual.

While tricky moments are part of every relationship, repeated conflict can have a serious impact on children.

Sometimes we need a little help to get our parenting relationship back on track.

📣A message from Riana Nelson, Director of Children, Young People and Families in Doncaster:

“Today is a big day for some of our city’s young people who are receiving their A Level and Level 3 results.

No matter what your results say today, your hard work and determination over the past few years, through all the challenges, are something you should be so incredibly proud of – and know that we are all so proud of you too!

Whether you get the results you wanted, or things haven’t quite gone to plan, there’s always a path for you to reach your goals, even if it looks a little different.

We’ve got some fantastic people available to help you explore your options, and many of them will be available to chat to at the ‘What’s Next’ post-results event at Cast on the 22nd August – we’d love to see you there.

Doncaster has some wonderful opportunities waiting – university and degree-level courses, apprenticeships, further training, a huge array of jobs in some fantastic industries, as well as support to start your own business. Whatever next steps you choose, believe in yourself, and I wish you all the luck in the world.”

You can find out more about the What’s Next post-results event on Friday 22nd August as well as a list of resources to help you with your next steps at: https://www.yourlifedoncaster.co.uk/post18
