🧸 🧸 🧸 Is anyone is able to donate a new teddy with the tags on? If you can’t get to St John's Hospice, Balby, Doncaster yourself, feel free to pop it in to reception at the practice and we will make sure they get there safely 🤗

Help we need more teddy bears! 🧸

We try to keep our toy box fully stocked with new teddy bears so our patients can share one with children or grandchildren when they visit. Every child also receives a special adoption certificate to go with their teddy 📝

Could you help us by donating a small or medium-sized teddy bear that is new with tags?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept pre-loved bears.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at the Fundraising Office in the St John’s Information Centre
🕗 Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm

Today is World IBD Day 2026 💜

Did you know that IBD stands for inflammatory bowel disease? It includes Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis — conditions that affect more than 10 million people worldwide.

Experts report that more young people, including children, are being diagnosed with IBD every year, and the numbers continue to rise. Many people still struggle to access the right treatment and support, with some only seeing specialists when symptoms become severe.

Crohn’s and Colitis can affect every part of life physically and emotionally, yet many people still do not understand how serious these conditions can be. That’s why raising awareness today matters so much.

Let’s keep this ribbon going for everyone living with IBD and for the families beside them. If you feel comfortable, share part of your story in the comments below 💜

🚶‍♂️ May is National Walking Month 🌼

May is National Walking Month – an annual celebration highlighting the many benefits of walking. Walking is a simple, free way to get active, spend time with others and explore Doncaster’s brilliant local parks and trails.

Across Doncaster there are lots of friendly, community led walking groups you can join, helping people of all ages and abilities move more and feel more connected.

To mark National Walking Month, local resident Jane shared her inspiring journey – from starting out as a Walk Leader in Bentley to becoming a Community Coach with Club Doncaster Foundation. Jane talks about the positive impact walking has had on her wellbeing, confidence, and career.
