What PT Kids does:
Provides detailed physiotherapy assessment and specialist treatment to children aged 0-19.

🌱 Helping children thrive & grow in independence — let’s unlock their full potential together! This includes children with :
Long term neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy (including post SDR), brain injuries, spinal injuries
Children with delayed development, down syndrome etc. Children with dyspraxia/ developmental coordination disorder
Young people with sports injuries........and MUCH more. Our aims:
To help children reach their full physical potential. Allow children to achieve milestones that they many not otherwise achieve without physiotherapy intervention. Help children and young people recover from injury to participate fully in day to day activities and sport. Promote physical recreation and high quality physical education for children and reduce the incidence of coordination difficulties and obesity. Create a lifelong positive approach to physical recreation. How we achieve our aims:
We provide high quality bespoke physiotherapy no matter what the level of impairment (from children with profound physical disabilities to elite participation in sport)
Provide education to parents, carers, schools, nurseries and other health professionals. If you have any questions and you would like to discuss your child please don't hesitate to contact us, we are more than happy to help. We are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists and registered with the Health Professions Council.

We currently have availability with an experienced paediatric physiotherapist to take on the right medical-legal case.

Our physiotherapist works with children with complex physical needs and is experienced in:
• MDT collaboration
• Functional, child-centred goal-setting
• Supporting families alongside case managers

We prioritise careful matching to ensure the best outcomes for the child and clarity for the wider team.

Rehabilitation Is More Than Therapy Sessions
Successful paediatric rehabilitation within medical-legal cases often depends on whole-team collaboration.
In one long-term case, therapy goals extended beyond mobility to include:
• Increasing physical activity
• Supporting a healthier relationship with movement
• Improving participation in age-appropriate activities
With coordinated input from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, care teams, and community resources, the child increased activity levels and participation in meaningful ways that fitted family life.
For case managers, this kind of joined-up approach can make a significant difference to outcomes, engagement, and sustainability.
We currently have capacity across Yorkshire and Lincolnshire for the right paediatric referral.

From Neglect to Functional Use – The Role of OT
Occupational therapy can play a vital role in supporting children with neurological injury to use their affected upper limb functionally, not just therapeutically.
In one case-managed client, OT intervention focused on:
• Sensory integration
• Functional splinting and garment use
• Task-based therapy embedded into daily routines
Over time, this led to spontaneous use of the affected arm in activities such as self-care and feeding — outcomes that mattered most to the child and family.
For case managers, this demonstrates the importance of functional, child-centred OT input aligned with wider rehabilitation goals.
We currently have an occupational therapist with availability near Lincoln, alongside physiotherapy capacity in Yorkshire.

We often meet families who have been told their child has reached a plateau. In our experience, this is frequently a sign that therapy, goals, or systems around the child need reviewing — not that progress has ended.
In one case-managed client with complex neurological needs, therapy was reframed to focus on:
• Functional movement rather than isolated skills
• Consistency across therapy, school, and care
• Equipment progression aligned with physical development
Over time, meaningful functional gains were achieved, including improved mobility, independence, and confidence.
For case managers, this reinforces the value of:
✔ The right clinician match
✔ Long-term vision
✔ Strong MDT communication
We are currently open to discussing new medical-legal referrals.
