💜 A lovely afternoon of pampering and connection

Residents at Anchor - West Hall recently enjoyed a special afternoon tea and pampering event to mark International Women’s Day.

From relaxing treatments to delicious treats and time spent together, it was a wonderful way to celebrate the women in the home and create moments of connection and joy.

Congratulations to everyone at Anchor - St Mary's as the home has been classed as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the second highest rating possible, as well as being rated Outstanding for leadership.

The CQC inspectors were impressed by management at St Marys whose leadership was recognised as dynamic and passionate. Inspectors noted that colleagues worked well together, and that residents were treated with kindness and compassion.

Inspectors also praised how St Marys’ residents and their relatives were happy with the home and felt safe and comfortable. One resident said, “I definitely feel safe, everything is well ordered here, staff are excellent and very caring”. Additionally, relatives’ feedback included good communication from colleagues and management.

We want to give you, care workers, care home residents and their loved ones an opportunity to make each other smile. We want to hear your favourite Christmas cracker jokes and help you share them with as many care workers and care home residents as possible.

We’d love it if you could share a video of yourself telling your favourite joke, but you can use text if you prefer. We’ll turn your jokes and messages into a series of short digital Christmas Cracker videos that we’ll share with care workers and care home residents across the country in in the runup to Christmas.
