Nadiya Hussain speaks beautifully, and with great self-awareness, about the importance of learning that gratitude is important, but it shouldn't be a muzzle.

Many people struggle with people pleasing behaviours and find it difficult to find their own voice.

Counselling can help you to become more fully yourself.

Open Minds have free counselling for adults, and also subsidised counselling for children and young people at £30 a session.

Yes, Pride has rainbows and parades. And yes, that joy matters. But this artwork by is a beautiful reminder that Pride is so much more.

Pride is:
✨ Surviving hard things
✨ Loving yourself without apology
✨ Feeling free in your own skin
✨ Honoring those who paved the way — especially Black and Brown LGBTQ+ elders
✨ Protecting trans youth
✨ Creating community
✨ Fighting for equal rights
✨ Living beautiful, authentic lives

And for so many, Pride is also about being valid even if you’re not out - because safety matters, too.

At Real Mama Bears, we believe Pride is about love in action — love that protects, defends, fights, uplifts, and affirms. Love that shows up.

So while we’ll celebrate with glitter and flags, we’ll also keep fighting for a world where every LGBTQ+ person can live safely, openly, and joyfully.

Because that’s what Pride is really about. 💖

We are so sorry that we can't offer free counselling to children at the moment, as we've lost funding, but here is some good advice for families to help when children feel suicidal.

We can still work with children where families can pay £30 a session, get in touch with us on 07765224564 and we can discuss how we can support you.

Can you spare some time to fill in a questionnaire?

The Inclusive Crisis Alternatives project is looking to develop the workforce to deliver services that meet the needs of people, who are neurodivergent or have a learning difficulty, including those from minoritised communities.

The questionnaires will help to understand what training staff need to better support neurodivergent people and people with learning difficulties when they are in crisis. All of the questionnaires have been designed with Experts by Experience, who are neurodivergent and/or have learning difficulties.

There are four questionnaires:

one for adults
one for children and young people
one for parents and carers
and one for staff working in crisis alternative services..

Please click on the link below for more information and to access the questionnaires:
