🐾✨ Happy Roald Dahl Day! ✨🐾

Today we celebrate the magical mind of Roald Dahl—whose stories sparked imaginations across generations, and whose heart was just as full of love for animals as it was for words. Dahl shared his life with a parade of pets, including dogs like Chopper the Great Dane, Sherry the dachshund, and Candy the terrier. His tales often reflected the loyalty, mischief, and charm of our four-legged friends.

At Burntwood Canine Hydrotherapy, we see that same magic every day. The bond between dogs and their humans is pure storytelling gold.

So today, we raise a paw to Roald Dahl—and to every dog who’s ever been a hero in someone’s life. 🐶💙

👋 Meet the Team: Rhianna – Veterinary Physiotherapy Student 🐾

Rhianna is currently completing her university placement with us from Harper Adams University, bringing passion, dedication, and a lifelong dream of helping animals live their best lives 💙

She’s especially interested in rehabilitation and gentle care that supports long-term wellbeing. At home, she’s kept on her toes by her two German Shepherds, Bella and Murphy—whose playful energy inspires her every day!

We’re so pleased to have Rhianna on the team as she builds her career in veterinary physiotherapy.

BSc (Hons) Veterinary Physiotherapy | MRAMP

Fern is a proud member of the Register for Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners and brings a wealth of experience to Burntwood Canine Hydrotherapy. After completing a year of specialist training in the USA, she honed her skills in canine rehabilitation and hydrotherapy—adding international insight to her compassionate care.

Her journey began at just four years old, when she declared she wanted to “make doggies better”… and now she’s doing exactly that 💙

Fern’s dedication and gentle approach help our patients recover, move better, and feel their best. We’re so lucky to have her on the team!

Having begun her veterinary nurse training in 2022, Rachel brings a deep passion for canine rehabilitation—especially supporting patients recovering from orthopaedic surgeries and managing chronic conditions like osteoarthritis.

Her goal? To help our four-legged friends stay active, pain-free, and full of life for as long as possible 💙 Whether it’s through tailored hydrotherapy sessions or holistic care plans, Rachel is committed to improving mobility and comfort for every dog she meets.

🐾 International Dog Day meets Tongue Out Tuesday 😛

A perfect day to celebrate the dogs who inspire everything we do at Burntwood Canine Hydrotherapy.

Look how well Bella and Luna the cockers spaniels did at the biggest agility competition of the year in the UK last weekend, the KCIAF.

🐕2x 1st G4 jumping wins. Her Novice cup win took her to G5 aswell.

Also Nora the border collie. Who qualified for the starters cup semi final, coming 1st overall, but an unfortunate E in the semi final.

🐾 Finn’s First Swim 🐾

Big day for young Finn the German Shepherd. He came along as a spectator dog to cheer on his best mate Bella, who was in the pool for her regular swim to help with her mobility 💦.

Finn brought along his own favourite toy and he absolutely loved it 🐾 He was a pro supporter, watching Bella closely and soaking it all in (not literally… this time!).

Bella, ever the calm friend, gave Finn loads of reassurance from the sidelines. 💙 She even posed for a classic Tongue Out Tuesday pic to show him how it’s done 😝.

BURNTWOOD HYDRO

Burntwood Canine Hydrotherapy Centre is based at Moorhouse Equestrian Centre, the home of the Equine Veterinary Centre, Gap Farm, Moorhouse, Doncaster, on the border of South & West Yorkshire with easy access to Doncaster, Barnsley, Pontefract, Wakefield, Sheffield and Leeds. We are close to J38 & J39 of the A1 and A638.

Burntwood Canine Hydro was established in 2007 in our purpose built centre in South Kirkby, Pontefract, but as our business grew we decided to relocate to a more rural setting at Moorhouse Equestrian Centre in 2019 where we have ample parking and facilities to meet our customer needs.

We have a dedicated and caring team with many years experience between us. All of our Hydrotherapists are fully qualified and we have the added benefit of a Veterinary Physiotherapist and Sports Massage Therapist, giving you a wide range of services all under one roof.

We work with over 80 referring Veterinary Practices from across our region so why not come and see why we are the pool of choice for so many vets.
