Thank you, Laura! ✨

Today is Laura Sherburn’s last day as our CEO here at Primary Care Doncaster.

Laura’s leadership, kindness, and vision have been at the heart of PCD for eight years and have played such a big part in shaping who we are today.

She’s been a constant source of support, encouragement, and inspiration to so many of us, and her impact will be felt for a long time to come.

She will be deeply missed by all of us, but we’re so excited to see what’s next for her!

Smear tests are quick, simple, and could be lifesaving. If you're due for your cervical screening, this is the perfect opportunity to get it done.

Please note: For ear syringing, patients must have used olive oil (or suitable ear drops) in the affected ear(s) for a minimum of 5 days prior to visiting the Health Van. Please speak with your GP Practice if you have any questions.

With hot temperatures, it’s more important than ever to stay safe in the sun.

Whether you’re heading to the beach or just out for a walk, here are some tips that can make a big difference in protecting your skin and your health:

This Alcohol Awareness Week, it's important to remember to monitor your alcohol intake and include alcohol-free days to stay within safe limits.

Reducing the amount of alcohol you drink will benefit your mental and physical health, you will be able to sleep better, have more energy, perform better at work and it will have a positive effect on your relationships.

If you or your loved ones are dealing with alcohol misuse or need help understanding safe drinking limits, you should reach out to your GP or contact a local support group.

Inspiring Future Healthcare Professionals! 🩺👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

Last Friday, we were proud to take part once again in the We Care into the Future event, hosted by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The event brought together around 2,000 young students to explore the wide range of careers available within health and social care.

We engaged with hundreds of students, offering hands-on experiences and insights into careers within general practice and primary care. Clinicians joined us on the day, demonstrating wound care and wrapping techniques, reflex testing, and heart rate monitoring.

We were delighted to be part of such an inspiring day!
