Reflection 💙

In April 2017, after being made redundant at Sue Ryder, our founder Emma took her first tentative steps into the world of self employment. So full of nagging doubts but with the help of her husband & children, she pushed on regardless.
The first client was waiting for her in the small village of Fishlake. A wonderful place where everyone knows everyone, word soon got round about what she was offering and before she knew it she had 4 Service Users. Next onboard was Granny Sylv (featured in our photo) and slowly but surely, it was a full round.
The next call was Emma's favourite though.
It came from the wife of the Service User who'd given her the final push to give it a go. He'd pointed out how the service had helped him, the friendship they'd built and he'd booked his slots in ready! Thursdays at 11 ✅️ Sadly, he passed away before Emma had chance to go solo. Now just a few months later, his wife wanted to use the service for herself. What an incredible honour & of course there was always going to be room for her to join us.
Those early days seem to long ago now but Emma will always appreciate that chat with the gent. Look how we've grown. With no vision it would be this big, Emma just wanted to continue delivering a service she believes in & she's proud to be here, still doing it with an amazing team behind her almost 9 years later.

Meet Emma (me) - the face behind Friends With Emma 👋

With many, many years of knowledge & experience within the care sector and a people-first approach, I'm here to make your journey as simple, stress-free, and personal as possible.
I'm the first person you will speak too when making contact to enquire about the service and I'm always open and honest. I also conduct all initial assessments personally to ensure we are the appropriate team for you.
In addition to my 'Admin' duties, I also work out in the community with my own round of service users which I absolutely adore. This is very much where my heart is. Meeting & supporting the most wonderful people and its an honour to be able to do it on a daily basis ✨️
