We had an amazing time this afternoon welcoming Alan and Steve to Glencairn! They blew us away with their performance of traditional Dorset songs. Their musical talents brought each piece to life, and we loved the mix of classic favourites and new tunes.🎶

A proud moment for Glencairn 🩵

After a positive CQC report, we were honoured to welcome guests from across the community to mark this achievement together.

As shared during the event, “care homes are not isolated institutions but vital parts of their communities.”

Our proprietor Ralph Sanders also reminded us that a home built on “warmth, humour, and kindness” is created day by day by people who often work quietly yet make a profound difference.

A huge thank you to our incredible team and everyone who continues to support what we do!

Yesterday, we had a fantastic coastal trip to Portland, where we enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Lobster Pot. ☀️Residents loved the scenic drive along the Jurassic Coast and the stunning views of Portland Bill Lighthouse. The Lobster Pot served us an impressive array of fresh seafood and wine, with the crab sandwich being a standout favourite. The perfect weather added to the memorable day out in Dorset.🦀🐚

What a fantastic adventure we had in the Rickshaws around Dorchester and Maiden Castle this week! ☀️The sunshine was the perfect accompaniment to the breathtaking views. A huge thank you to our amazing tour guides who made the afternoon truly lovely for our residents and staff.🤗

Ahead of St Patrick’s Day on Monday, residents spent the afternoon bringing an Irish theme to their art session by painting portraits of well-known Irish celebrities!

It was a welcome change from their usual still life and landscape subjects, and the move into portraiture provided an enjoyable and rewarding challenge for everyone involved.

Many thanks to Sarah-Jane for her creative encouragement and artistic guidance in delivering another engaging and enjoyable project. 🍀🎨

Today we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through town in the warm sunshine, eventually making our way to Vivo Lounge in Brewery Square!

With the sun shining brightly, we chose to sit out in the courtyard, where we relaxed with a selection of delicious cocktails and refreshing mocktails. ☀️

For those local to Dorchester, the building brought back fond memories of its former life as Eldridge Pope’s Brewery – once one of the town’s most significant and iconic landmarks.

Everyone agreed it was invigorating to get out in the sunshine, unwind, and share stories together over a lovely drink.🥂

Visiting the tearooms at Athelhampton House in Dorset is a simple but perfect pleasure, especially in early spring.🌷

After a stroll around the gardens, we settled into the cosy tearooms for freshly baked scones served with clotted cream and jam, alongside a comforting pot of tea.

Outside, the gardens were just coming to life, with drifts of daffodils and delicate blossoms adding splashes of colour to the lawns and borders.

The combination of good company, traditional treats, and the first signs of spring made for a very happy morning!

It was great to get out and about yesterday on a trishaw ride through Dorchester with Cycling Without Age. 🛺

The rain held off for our journey and the residents enjoyed seeing some familiar sights as well as discovering some new places.

As it was our Deputy Manager, Michelle’s, birthday, it was only right she hopped onboard and share a birthday jaunt with David. 🎈
