Shhhhhhh, we're whispering because it's only the 19th of November... but today felt like the start of Christmas at Montrose.

We put on some of our favourite festive songs, rolled out the clay, and spent the morning making our own decorations with a table full of Christmas cutters and a lot of happy chatter.

There were stars, trees, snowflakes... and a few creative surprises!

Everyone made something personal to hang up once they're painted next week.

It was a lovely way to ease into the season and fill our home with that early Christmas feeling. More festive moments to come! 🎄🎅🏽

She's having a boy!
We hosted a fabulous baby shower at Montrose today, wishing our lovely Liby and husband Basil lots of love and luck as she left for maternity leave. The celebration was filled with love, laughter and CAKE of course!
Liby, we will miss you and we can't wait for the baby pics!!

This morning, residents and staff at Montrose came together to honour and remember all those who gave their lives in service of their country.

At the stroke of 11, we fell silent in reflection, paying our respects to the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

We spent time together in remembrance, before reading "In Flanders Fields", a moving poem that captures the spirit of the day.

Lest we forget.

"In Flanders Fields" was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, a Canadian army doctor and poet, during the First World War in May 1915.

He wrote it after presiding over the funeral of a close friend who had been killed in the Second Battle of Ypres. The poem was first published later that year and quickly became one of the most famous war memorial poems, inspiring the use of the red poppy as a symbol of remembrance.

On a gloomy Monday morning Danny Jukebox chased away the blues and put smiles on all our faces… watch this video (make sure you’ve got the sound on) and you’ll see how! We reckon Danny would be great on Strictly - do you agree?

With the sun keeping itself firmly hidden this morning, we decided to create some colour ourselves, with a flower arranging session. And while we were busy creating beautiful floral displays, we spent time reminiscing about days gone by.

We’ve been celebrating a very special milestone – Heather’s 90th birthday!

The day began with our regular fortnightly visit from Bella, our much-loved pets as therapy (PAT) dog, which made Heather’s morning even brighter. For lunch, Heather chose her favourite dish, a hearty beef stew with dumplings, and was joined by her family to share the occasion. And of course, no Montrose birthday would be complete without cake! 🎂

A truly joyful day for Heather, and we loved celebrating with her ♡.

A big thank-you to our Classic Car Show raffle and tombola prize donors! Dorchester Halfords donated the very apt luxury autoglym car kit, which was our 1st prize, and was won by Alan Smith. Strangely enough, Alan, from Avenue Interiors, had donated our 2nd prize, a ÂŁ20 voucher! The voucher was won by Hannah Barnes. Finally, our 3rd prize, a box of chocolates, donated by Dorchester Tesco, was won by Di Bushnell.

Our friends from the Dorset Trefoil Guild (who help with our monthly Knit and Natter group) donated lovely hand knitted toys for the very popular tombola.

Thank you so much to our donors, and congratulations to our winners! Take a look at our previous post today for lots of pics from this morning. đźš— đźš™
