We have around 100 people on standby as Storm Goretti brings heavy rain, strong winds, and a short wintry spell tonight.

• Gritting will be timed for when roads could freeze. Main roads first, then others as conditions allow.
• Crews are ready overnight to deal with severe flooding and fallen trees.
• Higher and hill roads may see light snow and icy patches.
• Midnight to 6am looks toughest. If you must travel, slow down, leave extra space, and allow more time.

Report urgent highway issues on 01305 221000. We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust our response as conditions change.

Our Dermatology Consultant Saleem captured these stunning images of the wolf supermoon rising over Dorchester at the weekend. The pictures were taken from Maiden Castle and were only possible due to the moon rising at an unusually northern angle. 🌕

Don't forget, local Minor Injuries Units and Urgent Treatment Centres are here for you this winter.

They can treat sprains, simple fractures, simple wounds, minor burns, minor head injuries with no loss of consciousness, minor illnesses (earaches, sore throats etc), rashes, bites, stings, infections and eye conditions like conjunctivitis.

Using your MIU or UTC allows staff at our Emergency Department to concentrate on people with serious, life-threatening conditions. You will probably see a shorter wait for your treatment too.
