Congratulations to our Operating Department Practitioner Erin and her colleagues for completing an eight hour spinathon at the weekend and raising an incredible £3,200 for three charities. The money is being donated to , Dorset Mind and The Aplastic Anaemia Trust. Well done everyone! A fantastic achievement! 💪

Join us at the Bournemouth Gateway Building, Lansdowne Campus and see what opportunities are available, from nursing and midwifery, to finance and project management. We hope to see you there!

The Nursing, Health & Social Care Careers Fair is a great opportunity to browse part-time jobs, placements and graduate roles, seek career advice or network with employers.

Health Minister Karin Smyth and South Dorset MP Lloyd Hatton visited us this week to see the progress on the construction of our new Emergency Department and Critical Care Unit. They were able to see the building beginning to take shape now that the ground and first floor concrete slabs have been poured. The multi-million pound scheme is being funded by the New Hospital Programme and is due to be completed in 2027.

A huge thank you to the Friends of DCH for raising a fantastic £430 in their recent cake sale. Our staff, patients and visitors certainly enjoyed the tasty treats! 🧁🍰

Good luck to our Operating Department Practitioner Erin who, along with other hospital colleagues, will be completing an eight-hour charity spinathon this weekend. The spinathon will be raising money for the , Dorset Mind and The Aplastic Anaemia Trust. Good luck to everyone taking part! 💪

We were delighted to welcome Lauren Hunter, Patient Engagement and Involvement Manager at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, to The HIVE to meet Patient Experience Managers Julia and Amy to discuss how we can work closer together to support our service users and local communities.

The HIVE (Health and Wellbeing, Information, Volunteering and Engagement) is our new community involvement hub and offers a welcoming space for patients and families to provide feedback about their experience, raise any concerns, and be signposted to various support services available in Dorset.

Lauren previously set up a patient hub in Yeovil District Hospital and helped us in the development of our own. We were thrilled to show her our space and demonstrate how impactful it had been since opening earlier this year.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our Remembrance Service this morning. It was a lovely service, led by our Lead Chaplain Jean. Thank you to also to Katie and our Dementia Team, Rebeka from the Defence Medical Welfare Service and our Catering Team for their support in organising the event and for providing a fantastic cake to share with patients across the hospital.
