Do you exfoliate? Most people exfoliate the delicate skin on their face far too often, it’s not necessary and can do more harm than good.

The life cycle of our skin is around 28 days but this duration increases to around 40 days as we get older.

I like to exfoliate my face in line with the life cycle of my skin so around once every 5 weeks or so. I have come to recognise when my skin requires exfoliation, when the outer layer (the Stratum Corneum) is at the end of it’s life and ready for shedding, my face feels drier, more scaly and looks dull.

I have Rosacea so need to be very gentle when exfoliating, if you have sensitive skin then gentle exfoliation with a warm damp bamboo cloth will be sufficient. I like to use a gentle face scrub on my chin and nose but a bamboo cloth on my cheeks and forehead so as not to aggravate my rosacea.

It makes such a difference and leaves me with brighter skin and a healthy glow.

So remember, when it comes to exfoliation, less is more! 💜

Recently I was chatting with some friends and mentioned how my hands look about 10 years older than my face 🙈

They’ve been so dry recently and my knuckles were cracking so I decided to try the Intensive Hand Cream that we stock at my work and I have been so impressed with the results!

In just a few days my hands are so soft, no more cracked knuckles and although it hasn’t quite knocked 10 years off them I’m hopeful that with continued use they will look fabulous! 👏🏻

Cranberry Seed Oil - A complete facial oil in a bottle!
Not the most obvious oil that you might think of using in your skin care but one you will definitely want to try when you hear of the benefits.

Cranberries are naturally balanced in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. High in antioxidants polyphenols, carotenes and vitamin E which help to protect and nourish the skin and phytosterols and phospholipids to help build collagen and increase the skins elasticity. Making cranberry seed oil an extremely desirable skin care product!

It takes 30lbs of cranberries just to make one ounce of oil, so you would naturally assume that it is an unsustainable choice but this is not the case. As cranberries are predominantly grown and harvested for the food industry for the fruit and for juicing, this means that the seeds are a byproduct, therefore making this miracle oil a sustainable option too. However it is more expensive than other more commonly used oils.

Cranberry seed oil can be used on its own as a complete facial oil, or added to a facial oil blend for an extra powerful nutrient rich punch!

Black Seed oil is really good for skin conditions, it’s also very hydrating and can be used topically, in capsule form or in liquid form. Although it’s a natural product and not synthetic, it can still be harmful if not used correctly. So it’s really important that correct doses are used, ensure you follow the usage guidelines, especially for children and pets (yes it’s good for our furry friends too 😉).

Some of the benefits of black seed oil:

•Treats eczema, psoriasis and rosacea
•Softens skin
•Has antibacterial properties
•Delays fine lines and wrinkles
•May help prevent skin cancer
•Increases hair growth
•Prevents scarring
•Fights and reduces acne
•Relieves inflammation
•Hydrates hair & skin
•Reduces the appearance of dark spots
•Reduces oily skin and clogged pores
•Contains vitamins A, B and C which nourish the skin
•Kills infections
•Prevents dandruff
•Hydrates lips
•Speeds up the bodies healing process
•Calms down red, irritated and sunburned skin
