πŸ’ž The average age of menopause (when periods stop completely) is 51, but it can happen anytime between the ages of 45 and 55.

πŸ’ž Perimenopause. The transition leading up to menopause, can start several years earlier and cause most of the symptoms women experience.

πŸ’ž A woman is considered to have reached menopause when she’s gone 12 consecutive months without a period.

πŸ’ž There are over 30 recognised symptoms of menopause, from hot flushes and night sweats to brain fog, anxiety, and joint pain.

πŸ’ž Hormonal changes, particularly a drop in oestrogen, can affect not only the reproductive system but also the skin, hair, bones, heart, and brain.

πŸ’ž The average length of the menopausal transition is around 7 years, though for some women it can last longer.
